It would not matter as much if that was Mike and Lily’s plan from the beginning, but they had no idea who drugged the four bodyguards. Although it helped them with their problem, they were unsure if the other party was a friend or a foe.

“Stop wasting time!” Lily pushed him into the office.

Mike successfully barged into the office. The door was not closed properly, so it opened as soon as he bumped into it, causing him to stagger a little.

No one was around, and the “boss” was not there. It puzzled Mike even more. Everything looked like a trap set up before their arrival to lure them here.

Mike was worried and peeked his head out of the office. “Do you think they’re baiting us?”

“We’re already here. Is it different between taking it as bait or looking at it as an opportunity?” Lily asked in return. Her tone was not particularly friendly as she glared at Mike, thinking how this man had become so naggy.

They were already knee-deep if it were a trap, so they might as well take this chance to search the office. It was not like anything would change if they were to leave now.

Her glare scared Mike. “I got it. I’ll stop hesitating!”

Without hesitation, he returned to the office and started his search, especially in the safe beside the desk. However, it felt strange to him that no one was in this vast space. He kept feeling someone was hiding in the dark and that the person would suddenly come out to attack him.

Lily stood outside the door and observed the four men closely. She realized they were not just simply drugged.

They were probably drugged after getting attacked, and the drugs were only used to make them unconscious for an extended period.

Firstly, the thing they wanted was not in the safe, and secondly, the safe was not as simple as they thought.

“You know how to check out a safe as well?” Mike asked in disbelief as he watched Lily check out the safe carefully.

However, this was not a new thing to him after he had gotten to know Lily better. Besides being in awe, he could only stand by her side as he watched her check the safe while looking around the room.

Mike could never see the table's drawers whenever the man sat behind this desk. Now, he found that something was strange about it. All the drawers here were open ones. He could see what was inside without anything to cover the drawers.

Plus, the space where the drawers were supposed to be was empty, meaning there were no drawers. From the looks of it, the safe was their only option unless there was a secret passage in this office.
