However, Lily was shocked when the person showed up at the door. It was not the mastermind she had anticipated or a mysterious figure.

The person before her was wearing a white coat and a mask, accompanied by two similarly dressed individuals carrying a medical kit. Anyone could tell they were medics at a glance. Lily was horrified.

She never expected the organization to be so sly and not come to see her. Instead, they sent a doctor and two nurses. Lily had lied about going into premature labor, and if she was genuinely about to give birth, the doctor could help her. However, the doctor could expose her lies since she was not.

She watched as the doctor approached. After some thought, she planned to lay there motionless.

When the doctor got close enough, they wasted no time and immediately began examining Lily. The two nurses beside the doctor placed a medicine tray down and waited for the doctor’s instructions.

The doctor took his stethoscope and was about to examine Lily when she saw the equipment. Then she swiftly grabbed a needle while pulling the doctor backward. She strangled the doctor, held him under her arm, and pointed the needle at him. “I don’t need a doctor. Tell your boss to come and see me!”

Lily moved so quickly that no one in the room could react besides the bloodcurdling scream from the nurses. Meanwhile, the two guards remained surprisingly composed.

"No! No! No!" The doctor yelled, raising his hands in surrender. He did not expect the pregnant woman to hold him hostage like this.

"Go! Go and tell your boss I want to see him!" Lily demanded angrily.

"You shouldn't have to think about it. If your boss doesn't come, I’ll stab the needle in his neck and mine. If I die, there will be nothing useful your boss can get from me," she said coldly.

Lily believed their boss could see what she was doing and hear what she said. The monitoring equipment in the room was not a prop. Although there were not many, this equipment was much more advanced. Lily still had some understanding of these things.

However, judging from the condition of it, the equipment in her room was the latest model. Perhaps, it was not even yet available to the public. Ordinary people could not afford such cutting-edge technology.

Just as the room went quiet, footsteps sounded outside the door. The crisp sound of shoes hitting the ground came in a rush. Then the sounds stopped right outside the door.
