Lily stared sideways at them momentarily. Then she chuckled indifferently and said, “Don’t mind what I said, okay? I know how easy it is to talk about other people, but when it comes to doing it ourselves…”

She looked at Fred and continued, “Besides, as you said, it would only work if the person has the same blood type, and yours might differ. Perhaps I am indeed your best choice.”

“Yes, you’re right!” Fred quickly said, seemingly having just remembered it. “My blood type isn’t similar to Her Majesty’s. If not, I would’ve made the sacrifice without hesitation. Don’t try to sow discord between me and Her Majesty. My loyalty is unquestionable!”

“Yes, indeed, you’re loyal. Building such a massive lab and implementing such an extensive experimental project is undoubtedly impossible for anyone to achieve overnight." As Lily remarked casually, she observed the queen’s expression.

Although the older woman did not speak, her frown deepened as her expression grew grave.

“I’ve done everything to prolong Her Majesty’s life,” Fred declared proudly with his chin raised. “No matter how many people we must sacrifice, all of this is worthwhile for the sake of Her Majesty and the people.”

“Fred,” the queen suddenly called out his name.

“Your Majesty,” he bowed and answered respectively.

“I’m tired.”

Fred caught on. “We’ll take you back to rest right away.”

He glanced at the person pushing the wheelchair and gave a signal. The wheelchair then changed direction and headed behind the screen.

Lily heard the wheelchair’s slow grinding and stared after the queen. “Your Majesty!”

As Alexander was about to leave, he received a call from Dr. Blanc. The former entered the car while glancing at the number. “Yes, Dr. Blanc?”

“We examined the body. There’s a virus, but…” The man paused momentarily, adding, “The virus isn’t that active. Perhaps it’s because the man had died for quite some time. So the harm it poses is almost negligible.”

“Really? That’s great!” Alexander was thrilled to receive such good news.

“Also, your friend… he’s not infected, so we’ve released him.” Dr. Blanc seemingly chuckled. “He might be looking for you now.”

“He’s looking for me?” The moment Alexander said it, the car came to a screeching halt. Although he was wearing a seatbelt, he lurched forward.

Sitting in front, Edward looked over his shoulder at Alexander. “It’s Mr. Corden, sir.”
