Little Leonard struggled and broke free of Janet’s arms.

He waved an arm enthusiastically. “I seek and you hide.”

Lizzy nodded and turned around to grab Little Viemond’s hand.

“Can my brother play too?”

This time, Little Leonard kept quiet.

He merely pressed his lips together and eyed Little Viemond in a hostile manner.

After Nell’s explanation, Little Viemond already understood that the boy in front of him did not bully his sister. They were just playing.

However, he was always a proud boy. It was fine if he was at home with his own family, but when facing outsiders, especially during the first meeting, he would never apologize for what he had done.

Therefore, both kids stood still and stared at each other. Their little faces turned red as they held their breath, but neither one of them gave in.

Nell and Janet laughed.

In the end, they failed to play hide and seek together.

Ultimately, the two boys were intelligent yet stubborn, and even a bit aggressive. They were afraid that an accident might occur.

Hence, they passed their children to the maids, allowing them to let the young ones play some simpler games such as Crazy Arcade or the claw machine.

After letting the maids take care of the kids, Janet led Nell to her bedroom upstairs.

“Nelly, I’ve heard about Vickie’s issue. They arrived yesterday and she phoned me. Later, after dinner, you can decide whether to see her.”

Nell nodded.

She pondered for a while and asked, “Is Uncle Ian, whom you mentioned earlier, one of today’s guests?”

Janet shook her head.

“No, he’s a distant relative of the Griffins and has his own business here. He came here this time to celebrate the Old Madam’s birthday and to take care of his business.

“Today, we’re just having a family banquet to welcome your arrival. Mainly, we want to let the two Old Madams reminisce about old times. You’ll have to wait until tomorrow night for the real banquet. Till then, Uncle Ian will probably be around.”

Nell nodded again.

“In that case, there’s no hurry. It’s late anyway. I’ll see whether I’m free tomorrow morning and we shall meet up with Vickie first.”

Janet did not object to this.

She led Nell to a sofa and sat down.

First, she scanned Nell from top to toe. After that, she chuckled. “You’re a little chubby now.”

Nell was alarmed and quickly checked herself in front of the mirror.

“Really? Did I gain so much weight?”

Every day, she looked at herself in the mirror but never noticed any changes. It was most likely because Gideon often bought her a new set of clothes from time to time. As such, she did not wear her old clothes and never felt any changes in her body.

Even so, she was already very strict with maintaining her figure.

Yet, she still gained weight.

Janet noticed how nervous Nell was and laughed.

“Not really, you’re just a little rounder, but don’t worry. You’ve always been skinny, so having some meat on your bones makes you look better.”

She brought Nell back to reality as she spoke.

Nell calmed down when Janet said so.

Janet asked again, “I heard you’re pregnant again? How many months?”

When she brought this up, Nell’s lips curled into a smile.

“Nearly four months.”

“So fast?”

Janet’s eyes widened as she stared at Nell’s stomach. She raised her eyebrows suspiciously.
