Just as she had applied force to her hand, it was restrained by the man.

Janet’s frigid eyes glared at Liam.

“Give it up! Don’t dream about taking my child away from me. I won’t let you even at the cost of death.”

Liam smirked coldly.

“We shall wait and see then. Let’s see if who reigns victorious, you or me.”

With that, he turned away.

Janet closed her eyes, barely suppressing the raging anger within.

At least she had managed to chase him away. However, to her dismay, she opened her eyes and saw him walking towards the bedroom.

Color immediately drained from Janet’s face.

“Liam Jackman, what the hell are you doing?”

“Didn’t you say that it’s getting late? Of course, I’m heading to rest.”

“This is my home. Scram back to your house if you want to rest.”

“Ha!”

The man stood erected by the bedroom, looking down on the woman whose face was red from irascibility.

He reached forward to gently pluck her chin up.

Although Janet had her head turned away, he was not angry. Instead, he curled his lips and grinned wickedly.

“I’ll follow you wherever you go before the child is born. I’ve said before, do not think about running away. I mean what I said.”

Janet was speechless.

In the end, Liam took up residence in the small apartment Janet rented.

Janet may be furious but there was nothing she could do about it.

It was impractical to call the police in the late of night.

Besides, he was the child’s father. It would be a mess if things were heated up.

However, she had never thought that this man, with a heart of stone, would one day be so shameless.

Staring at the man lying in bed, Janet was so infuriated that she felt a knot in the pit of her stomach.

The apartment was not small, but because she was living alone, she had rented an open space apartment that was over seventy square meters. There was a partition in the middle — one side of the wall was the bedroom while the other side of the wall was an open-concept kitchen and living room.

With this man spread out on her bed, there was no way she could squeeze in and sleep together. Her only choice was the sofa.

Fuming by the ears, Janet held her tummy.

She silently cursed a horrible death for men who played the bully towards pregnant women.

Nevertheless, her heart thumped after running her mouth to which she immediately took back her words.

‘Oh God in heaven, I was furious and out of my mind to have rambled on about that nonsense. Please don’t take it seriously.

’Forget about death, a nightmare and diarrhea after eating would do.

‘Yes, just a light punishment for a huge crime.’

Ever since Janet had been pregnant, she became a little religious and behaved rather oddly at times.

After talking to herself, she gathered a sheet and unfurled it on the sofa, preparing to hit the sack.

The sofa was an adequate size and of great quality. It was not uncomfortable lying on the soft and springy sofa.

Nonetheless, Janet had been losing sleep over the huge tummy, and laying her head on the sofa only made it worse. She tossed and turned for several hours but could not fall asleep.

Eventually, she was so worn out that she finally dozed off in the wee hours.

Late at night.

It was unknown when the bedroom door was pushed open from the inside.

Looming from the bedroom, a tall figure with an aloof look on the face stared at the woman lying on the sofa.

She was lying on her side. The horrible sleep cast signs of fatigue on the exquisite face, such as her knotted brows and the faint green eyebags that were presented below her eyes.

Liam stood there with a poker face before he strode over.

He stood in front of her. The moonlight had poured in through the living room’s window and shone itself on her porcelain fair face.
