"Yeah, Dr. O'Neal said she needs bed rest for a few days and can't get up and move around." Stephanie said.

"Why isn't the nurse here today?" Sebastian asked.

"I have a few days off, so I thought I'd spend the time with her and gave the nurse a break." Stephanie answered.

"Steph, is your mom okay?" Ava couldn't help but ask.

"She's awake now." Stephanie said.

"Good... I'll go with you to see her later. Can you put in a good word for me?" Ava asked.

"Huh? About what?" Stephanie asked, confused.

"The previous hospital dean was my brother. It was all just a misunderstanding, and he had no idea about your relationship with Sebastian. I think if he'd known, he wouldn't have done what he did. So please, convince Sebastian to spare my brother and let him resume his position as the dean." Ava asked.

Stephanie quickly lowered her gaze, "Sorry, I can't do that. Sebastian, you go take care of things. I'll go look after my mom. I told you about this just so you wouldn't worry."

Sebastian nodded and said, "I'll go see her once everything is handled. Tell her to rest at ease."
