Mr. Finnegan raised an eyebrow and said, "If the accident hadn't happened...their children might already be in elementary school now! But let's not bring that up... It might upset Maximus."

Maximus chuckled bitterly, "You're exaggerating... Don't listen to Mr. Finnegan's nonsense. We were just friends..."

But Stephanie felt there must be a story behind it!

After all, she had heard Gracie yelling at Ashley.

She said that what had happened between Ashley and Jeffrey made her stop believing in men, which is why she remained single till now.
