Chapter 47
Hannah kept thinking about what Shawn had said to her as she made her way towards the office, she knew that and had Nothing in mind but then he didn't make it any easier for her by requesting that she take a wide guess on what he meant but then she was terrible at guessing and couldn't do a good job at it at all.
"You are late Friday today"
When Hannah settled down in her seat, one of her colleagues walked to ti her and said.
Glancing at the wristwatch, she knew that it was true and since she didn't really seek permission wanted to apologize but then she looked up and saw that it was one of the women who always comes late to work and now she was questioning me about coming to work late, that was unbelievable since she was the last or among the last, everyone knows how notorious she was and no one said anything.
Though the Boss has cautioned her once or twice and other times he had threatened to give her a suspension if she kept coming to work late but then she just won't stop and keeps coming to work late every day. She arched her brow wondering why she was here and questioning her about lateness.
"What is it that you are doing?" Hannah was not going to sit for another bullying at work. She already had enough to deal with at the moment, and there was this thing with Ashley that she hated the most but could not do anything until the right time came. When the right times presented themselves, she was very brutal when she beat her up, she did it without looking back and that was a lot for Ashley to take in. She had done it before and if this colleague was thinking of doing the same thing to her then she wouldn't hesitate to beat her up.
"Nothing, I was wondering why you haven't come to work"
"Oh that is not…" she paused uncertain what to say since she had never had any conversation with them that seemed so personal, she thought that no one woke to talk to her because of Ashley, she didn't mind those things since she has been used to her life by now.
She was used to her by now, not even in high school did anyone want to be her friend, it was worse during this time, everyone wanted to be friends with those kids with super-rich dads and she was not one of them she just never was, her father was a wealthy man back home but no one recognizes her since she was just a bastard and no one wants to have anything to do with her. She just couldn't imagine that at all happening again. When she got into college, it was a bit the same, Mike talked to her and they became friends, though she still never had many Friends around, not that anyone looked down on her she was in college, it was not like that but then, she wanted to make good of herself and so she spent most of the days studying and working so hard to pay for her tuition fees.
She didn't have the time to keep many friends except Mike, he was an exception until he started cheating and telling him stories that he was busy, he became full of excuses that she soon began to notice but kept quiet about this since she thought that he was passing so much.
"You don't have to say anything, we are colleagues and sometimes it is best that you talk so that you know what is wrong with someone. I was just concerned Because I know that you are among the first people to arrive at work"
