Chapter 1976: She is My Woman

Spencer stared at her, neither warm nor cold.

"Spencer, I know you're upset," Angel spoke calmly, as if negotiating. "But you can't keep delaying everyone's progress just because you have an issue with me. I can overlook what happened last night. Starting today, can you please stop being stubborn?"

"Are you trying to lecture me?" Spencer's voice grew stern, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "You're not happy with me, are you?"

Startled by his gaze, Angel quickly realized she had come to apologize. The words she had spoken earlier were indeed inappropriate, so she quickly changed her tone. "I'm sorry, that's not what I meant."

Spencer had no intention of engaging with her.

"We can't call it even," Spencer told her firmly. "Unless you let her slap you back."

"..." Angel's heart sank. She was scared, because he didn't sound like he was joking. She fell into the water twice, wasn't that enough?
