Mia cuddled her little bundle, speaking softly, unlike her husband's usual stern tone. “Dad, it’s only natural for folks to visit when someone’s in the hospital. But Henry’s just a little guy, and our elders are in their eighties and nineties. It wouldn’t make sense for them to brave this cold just to visit someone so many generations down the line like Henry. Plus, the cold weather makes everyone worry when they have to travel. Maybe we should take down that Facebook post. We don’t need to air our private lives online.”

Mia realized that everyone showed up mostly because it was a rare chance to see Andre, who’s usually hard to get ahold of. Visiting his son was a perfect excuse to catch up.

Hansen felt a bit put out. “I didn’t think everyone would come over.”

Mia gently continued, “Dad, think about it. If you saw on Facebook that a friend’s grandson was sick, you’d feel like you should visit, right? It’s the same way for them. If they hadn’t seen it, no big deal, but once it’s on Facebook, they feel they should come by.”

Sitting next to her dad, Molly took his phone as he reluctantly handed it over. “Let me delete that for you, Dad.”

Molly, showing a rare moment of helpfulness, explained, “Dad, if you want to share your thoughts on Facebook, there’s a setting where only our family can see it. I’ll set it up for you, so posting will be easier in the future.”

Naomi, sitting by the bed, watched the family’s harmony with a gentle smile.

She came over, “Mia, let me hold Henry for a bit so you can take a break.”

As evening rolled in, Henry started getting clingy. Tugging at his mom’s hair, he whimpered, refusing to be away from her. “No need, Naomi. Henry can’t stand being apart from me after dark.”

Soon, dinner was brought in.

Chad got a call from home. As he was about to leave, he gave his little nephew a hug, but Henry immediately reached for his mom.

Mia hurriedly scooped him back up, advising Molly, “Don’t go wandering around, and don’t come to the hospital tomorrow.”

Molly shot back, “You’re not going to turn me against my nephew.”

Naomi chimed in, “Mia’s just worried about you being out in the cold with all the hospital germs, especially since you’re pregnant.”

Chad pondered and nodded, “That could work.”

In the hospital room, Henry had noticeably “slimmed down” in the family’s eyes over the last couple of days.

He started dodging his food, turning away from it.

Andre remarked, “He’s scared of the spoon. I’ll try feeding him with chopsticks.”

Sure enough, knowing his son best, Andre managed to get Henry to eat a few bites with chopsticks while his grandpa, uncle, and aunt watched. But soon, Henry turned his face away again, resisting the food.
