Aimee piped up again. “Just make some noise! If he tries to get tough, you get even louder. Do it enough times and he’ll start thinking you’re a total maniac—he’ll be scared of you. Seriously, you’re the heiress of the richest family around, why aren’t you more fierce?”

“If I ever dared to be fierce, my brother would probably break my legs.”

Aimee groaned. “Why are you so afraid of your brother? Push back! At home or out in the world, you can’t let yourself get walked all over. Being bold takes practice.”

Molly answered, cool as ever. “It’s Andre. I’m no match for him.”

Aimee paused, then laughed. “Okay, fair. But isn’t your dad obsessed with you? You’re his only daughter, right? If your brother messes with you, just have your dad handle Andre.”

Jade cut in, “You’re being way too optimistic. In my house, even my dad folds when Andre speaks up.”

Aimee looked shocked. “So Andre just gets away with everything?” She had to admit, Andre intimidated her, too. Even though she was CEO of Hernandez Group, Andre refused to work with her directly—he’d only work with the vice president, her husband.

“There’s one person,” Molly said, glancing over at Mia. “When Mrs. Cedillo gets mad, that’s the only time Andre’s actually scared.”

Right then, Mrs. Cedillo was chewing on a tough piece of beef jerky. “Molly, this takeout you ordered is awful. The beef’s so chewy it’s stuck in my teeth.”

Aimee grinned. “Then let Mrs. Cedillo handle Andre for you!”

“But when she’s not mad,” Molly added, “she’s just Andre’s little kitten.”

Annie took a bite of her kebab and nudged them. “We’re getting off topic, guys.”
