Everyone knew this was the first time Andre had made a public appearance with his wife. Everyone was sneakily observing this couple. Without a doubt, Mia was the center of attention today. If it weren't for the fact that the man by her side was Andre, there would probably be a bunch of guys around her right now.

Unfortunately, she was Andre's wife, so no one dared to approach her.

"Come on, let's meet the host today." Andre said, ready to walk with his wife in his arms.

"Honey, I haven't found my rival in love yet." Mia responded.

Andre was curious. In the car earlier, she had mentioned finding a rival. Did she have one? "Who?" Andre asked.

"I should be asking you." Mia retorted, "Who's your confidante?"

Andre didn't even know he had a confidante.

Mia repeated what Hansen had said, and then seriously asked her husband, "Who is this woman exactly?"

Upon hearing this, Andre laughed. Turns out his wife was jealous. "Silly, you got tricked by dad and you didn't even realize it." Andre said.

"Huh?" Mia was confused.

Andre cupped his wife's face and looked into her eyes, "Dad wanted to show you off, but I wanted to keep you hidden. He deliberately used what you care about the most to lure you into attending this banquet, to achieve his goal."

Mia furrowed her brows, "What’s there to show off for?"

Andre looked his wife up and down. She probably didn't realize how beautiful she was. Just looking at her, Andre could understand why ancient kings preferred beautiful women. "Mia, do you know you're beautiful?" Andre asked.

Mia blushed. Her husband was complimenting her looks in public. Aaron and Madison also heard their daughter and son-in-law had arrived. They came to find them.

"Mia, Andre." Aaron and Madison greeted them.

"Dad, Mom!" Upon seeing them, Mia immediately ditched her husband and walked over to her parents.

Madison asked, "What were you two talking about?"

"Nothing much. My husband was just saying how beautiful I am." Mia said.

Andre awkwardly coughed. Madison looked at her daughter today. Normally, she just saw her as a child. Today, she saw her as a grown woman, stunningly beautiful.

"Have you met Harry yet?" Aaron asked his son-in-law.

Andre said, "We've met a lot of familiar faces since entering. We're about to go say hello."

Madison couldn't help but advise her daughter, "Be polite when you go, and speak sweetly. The Rayner family and the Cedillo family have been friends for decades."

"I know, Mom, I'll behave." Mia said.

Andre took Mia away.

Watching her daughter's retreating figure, Madison felt a wave of emotion.

Upon meeting the elders of the Rayner family, Mia greeted them politely. She knew what to say to them and her behavior was just right.

Rebecca complimented her, "Hansen has good taste. Both his daughters-in-law are pleasing. Naomi is capable, and Mia is well-behaved."

Naomi agreed, she extended her hand to Mia, "Mia, come with me."

Mia gave her hand to Naomi and was led away. Not long after they left, Naomi was called away by someone familiar. Mia didn't want to go to the restroom in the first place, so now she was free. She took advantage of the lack of supervision and sneaked into the banquet hall on her own.

The hall was filled with guests attending the banquet. Everyone was chatting with each other, creating a harmonious atmosphere. Mia was looking for her rival in love earlier, now, she started looking for her enemy.

Suddenly, a person in the southwest corner of the banquet hall caught her attention. Mia smirked, "Here we go, Brian."

Brian was happily chatting with a few people when an uninvited guest arrived.

"What a coincidence, Brian."

Upon hearing this voice, Brian had a bad feeling. Sure enough, as soon as he turned around, he saw Mia's giggling face. Brian's heart jumped into his throat.

Mia hollered in the crowd, "Brian, when did you bust out of the slammer? I was pretty baffled when the head of the financial investigation squad hauled you away. I meant to pay you a visit in the clink, however, I didn't expect you to get out so soon. Good for you. Now, Brian, why the hell did they nab you?"

Everyone in the hall turned to look.

Aaron and Madison also focused on their darling daughter. They were about to step in when Mia blurted out, "I saw in the news that the Marshal Group is about to go bust, dealing with financial crisis, and almost got snapped up by someone else. Is that true? Also, why did Calder Corporation suddenly cut ties with you guys?"

Upon hearing this, everyone instinctively distanced themselves from Brian. They didn't want to get entangled in his mess.

Brian noticed that the people around him were deliberately avoiding him, and he became so angry that the veins on his forehead bulged. He'd just spent half an hour assuring these folks that the company's financial situation was all good, hoping for some potential collaborations. But in just three minutes, Mia had demolished all his hard work!

Aaron, who knew his daughter's mind, realized she seemed to have some beef with the Marshal family. He held his wife's hand, stopping her from moving forward, saying, "Let's just watch from here."
