Chapter 338 novel Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance
They walked into the villa, and Jack, being the gentleman he was, guided Molly around. "I have a swimming instructor's certification. If you're up for it, I can accompany you for a swim."
With a touch of arrogance, Molly replied, "My brother not only has a swimming instructor's certification but also a lifeguard one."
What she was implying was he was not as good as her brother.
Jack chuckled and agreed, "Absolutely, your brother's the best."
"Of course, my brother is a cop," Molly said, her pride shining through.
Jack noticed that Chad was like a mountain in Molly's heart. She only spoke more when Chad was brought up. This made him even more curious about Chad.
He took Molly to the billiard room, "Do you play pool?"
"My brother taught me, but I'm not very good. I accidentally hurt someone while playing once, and I've been too scared to play since."
Next, Jack took Molly to the bar, the private cinema, the gaming room, and so forth. Finally, he opened a bedroom on the third floor, "This is the master bedroom. You can rest here if you're tired."
Molly frowned, "I thought I was going home tonight?"
Jack reassured the wary Molly with a smile, "If you want to go home, I'll take you. They might stay the night, so I picked a place with plenty of guest rooms. I've reserved the best master bedroom. It's especially for you."
Molly glanced at him and nodded, "Thanks, but as the host of today, you should keep the master bedroom. I'll head home if I get tired."
Seeing her distance, Jack responded with a gentlemanly smile, "Alright."
Food was already prepared and placed on the table. Molly glanced over the party-goers, around fifteen or sixteen people.
Ms. Thornton, on the other hand, was trying to play matchmaker. "Mr. Jack, I didn't see you showing us around every room. It seems like Molly is special in your eyes."
Molly responded with a sharp retort, her smile never leaving her face. "It seems like you are jealous. If you're interested in Jack, you can tell me in private. I can help you guys connect. I wish you guys a quick trip to the altar."
The people around them started laughing, "Ms. Thornton, you're not really into Mr. Jack, are you?"
Jack's face turned a bit awkward, "Guys, stop messing around. Ms. Thornton and I are just friends."
Ms. Thornton hurried to explain, "Don't listen to Molly's nonsense. Jack and I just recently met."
Molly responded to Ms. Thornton, clearly not fond of this kind of joke. The people around them were smart, so they didn't continue the joke.
Everyone there loved entertainment. After dinner, they grabbed bottles of alcohol. Some played board games, some went to play pool, and some went to the gaming room.
This was Molly's first time attending such a gathering. She was quiet, but she would chime in when everyone was playing something.
"Molly, do you play video games?"
Molly was humble when meeting new people. She replied, "I'm okay."
Someone mistook her modesty as honesty and enthusiastically invited her, "No worries, I can teach you."
Jack invited Molly to play. Molly glanced over at the game everyone was playing and their levels. The highest was only level 47, and she, a level 80 master, would stand out way too much.
"Maybe I'll use my dad's account." She sat in front of a computer and deftly input her father's account and password.
When Chad got home from work, he called out as soon as he entered, "Molly?"
There was no response, so Chad thought she was sleeping in her room. He went to her room only to find her pajamas on the bed, but she was nowhere to be found.
Molly was outside, enjoying the cool breeze. Unknowingly, it was already dark. She was so engrossed in her game that she had lost track of time.
"Chad, don't yell at me. If you keep doing that, I might disown you as my brother."
"Alright, alright, bro. Don't be mad. I really didn't do anything wrong. I was just playing a game and Jack answered the phone. I'm angry too."
"Chad, you are the best brother in the world."
Molly was outside on the phone with Chad for almost half an hour. When she hung up and turned to go back inside, she grabbed her bag from the sofa.
"Everyone, I'm going home. We'll play again next time."
Jack wanted to take Molly home, but she politely declined. She told Jack, "Jack, thank you for the invitation today. I had a lot of fun."
Then she stepped out of the house, plonking herself down on the steps to wait for Chad.
Before long, Chad's ride pulled up.
He stormed out of the car, shouting at Molly, "Molly, get your ass over here."
Molly bolted over, wrapping her arms around Chad’s arm and waist, trying to stop him from hitting her. "Chad, there are people around, can we do this in the car?"
Visibly pissed, Chad questioned, "What time is it now?"
Molly replied, "It looks like seven, but it's actually already ten."
Chad got even more ticked off, "So weren't you planning on coming home tonight if I hadn't called you?"
