Andre passed the drink to the passing servant. “Give this to Mia. If she asks where I am, tell her I’m in the study.”

The servant, very obedient, always followed her employer’s instructions without question.

Soon, Mia and Molly went to the living room arm in arm. Mia was still talking on the way, “Trust me. I know my husband.” There was an unmistakable pride in her voice as she said this.

The servant intercepted them, holding out Mia’s personalized glass. “Ms. Mia, this is prepared for you by the chef.”

Upon seeing the glass, Mia knew that she was supposed to have the healthy drinks of hers again. She waved it off lazily. “You can drink it for me.”

Before the servant could respond, she asked, “By the way, where’s my husband?”

Following Andre’s instructions, the servant informed them that he was in the study.

Mia, pulling Molly along, made her way towards the study. The servant was left standing with the untouched drink.

Once at the door, Mia lightly knocked and Andre’s voice promptly responded.

As Mia pushed open the door, her cheerful call ‘Honey’ instantly lifted Andre’s spirits. Having eavesdropped on their conversation earlier, Andre was well-prepared for their visit.

Molly, without beating around the bush, directly addressed her issue to Andre, “I’ve got something to tell you, but it’s just a hunch...”

Molly repeated her earlier conversation to Andre.

Andre paused. “The day before yesterday?”

Molly nodded.

Both Andre and his wife had the same suspect in mind: Tom. Mia rechecked her own assumptions with Molly’s and found them to match perfectly.

“Does Chad know?” Andre asked.

“He knows. But Chad doesn’t seem to believe me.” Molly asked, “Do you believe me?”

“I do.” Andre’s firm answer gave Molly the courage she needed to trust her own assumptions.

Remembering his wife’s words about his sister being afraid of him, Andre added, “Chad believes you too.”

Molly was very surprised. “Ah?”

Mia was very smart. She got it instantly. “Oh, I get it. Chad doesn’t want Molly to get involved in dangerous matters, just like you used to keep us out of the loop.”

Mia, acting as a perceptive observer, asked the bewildered Molly, “Could it be that Chad went back to work immediately after being discharged from the hospital to look into your issue?”

Molly lowered her gaze, suddenly recalling Chad’s seriousness at the previous night when she voiced her suspicions.

In an instant, she also realized the truth. “Andre, I want to call Chad.”

Andre nodded slightly and Molly turned to leave.

Inside the room, Andre looked at his beloved wife, who was dearer to him than anything else.

“It’s definitely me.” Chad replied with a chuckle.

“Haha, I’m so happy.” Molly wanted to jump for joy in the hallway. She even thought about celebrating with Chad that night.

But Chad said, “I have to work overtime tonight.”

“It’s only your first day back at work.”

Chad chuckled. His clear voice was resonating. “I’ve been at work for many years now. I have to handle urgent cases tonight. Don’t forget, your brother is a cop.”

Molly, for once, was rational. “Although I’m worried about your health, I understand your profession. I care for you, but I also support you.”

Molly added, “Don’t strain your neck. If it hurts, use a towel to wrap it. Rest if you’re tired. I’ll buy a neck pillow for you tomorrow.”

“Alright, you should also get to bed early tonight.”

They ended their call.

Back in the study, Andre and Mia had also finished their passionate kiss. Mia’s eyes were misty. She was very alluring. Her lips touched his Adam’s apple, and she slowly opened her mouth. Her soft, pink tongue traced over his Adam’s apple, stirring a surge of desire within him.

Andre pulled back, looking at his mischievous little wife. His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, as if still savoring the lingering taste of his young wife. The affection in his eyes grew more and more intense.

The sound of Molly knocking at the door echoed through the room. “Andre, Mia.”

Andre’s voice, husky and low, responded, “Whatever it is, it can wait till tomorrow. I’m... busy!”
