Mia pouted, an expression of discontent playing across her face. “You always said that the three of us together means nothing but trouble. So, what happened suddenly?”
Andre slightly regretted his words. “Chad’s away, and I’m sure Molly misses him. As her friend, you should pay her a visit.”
Mia considered his suggestion and nodded. “Alright. Molly hasn’t tasted my cooking yet. I’ll visit her tomorrow at lunch.”
Andre sighed internally, feeling guilty for his sister.
The next day, Andre received a phone call. “Honey, are you hungry?”
“I have a business meeting later.”
Mia sounded disappointed. “I’ve cooked a meal and was planning to have the maid bring it to you. Since you’re busy, I’ll have the driver take me to Molly’s place.” She added, “Don’t drink too much at your meeting, honey. I’ll come to find you in the afternoon.”
After ending the call, Andre let out a breath of relief, already planning his afternoon strategies. An hour later, Andre’s phone rang again. He glanced at his office monitor, checking if Mia was there. Upon seeing that she wasn’t, he answered, “I’m in a meeting…”
“Honey, I swear, I didn’t start the fight.” Mia’s words instantly tensed Andre up. “Where are you?” he asked urgently, getting up from his chair.
Mia hesitated, “At Chade Inc., but… the police are here. Not for me though. Don’t worry, and don’t panic…” By the end, it seemed like Mia was trying to comfort her husband more than herself.
When Andre arrived at Chade Inc., he found a few individuals scattered around the conference room. There were also two police officers present.
Among the familiar faces, there was a man Andre had heard of, seated next to a woman who bore a striking resemblance to him. The woman had lettuce and various spices on her hair, and scratches on her face. She was visibly in pain, with one of her eyes seemingly unable to open.
Seeing her husband, Mia quickly stood up and pulled her driver, who was her witness, over to explain. “Honey, I didn’t start it. I was just delivering something to Molly. If you don’t believe me, ask the driver. He was there.”
Andre took a seat, asking his sister, “Are you hurt?”
“Not hurt, but it hurts,” Molly replied, without any pretense.
Mia explained, “You know I came here to bring Molly lunch. When the driver and I arrived, we saw someone arguing with Molly at the entrance, and then they started fighting…”
It turned out, Jack’s relentless pursuit of Molly was discovered by Cecilia. Moreover, Cecilia found out from her son that Molly was aloof and often scolded him. Filled with anger, Cecilia barged into Chade Inc. to confront Molly.
Initially, Molly ignored this madwoman and had the security guards escort her out. This move triggered Cecilia’s quarrelsome nature, and she started scuffling with the guards, shouting, “If you touch me again, I’ll have my son buy this company. Believe it or not?”
Andre’s precious little wife loved to innovate when cooking. The simple meatball soup was transformed with various additives, including all kinds of spicy seasonings. Spicy and piping hot! Shreds of skin from Cecilia’s face, slashed open by Molly’s nails, sizzled in the fiery soup. As the broth seeped into her eyes, she let out a yelp of pain.
Coleen arrived in the nick of time to put an end to the chaos.
…
In the conference room, Mia lamented, “Molly didn’t even get a chance to taste it before it all went to waste.”
Molly glanced at Cecilia’s face, feeling relieved that she hadn’t tasted the explosive dish herself.
The police began their questioning in the conference room. Mia was an innocent bystander this time. “I had nothing to do with this. I was just delivering lunch for my friend.” Little did they know how lethal her “lunch delivery” could be.
Moreover, the surveillance video clearly showed that Cecilia was the first to strike. “She insulted my son. She should be the one you’re arresting.”
Molly fired back, “Officer, I want to press charges. Jack has been harassing me. If anyone needs to be arrested, it’s him.”
