After a long day, little Henry crashed into the welcoming, cushy embrace of a pile of pillows. Mia, on the other hand, was off to the side, venting to her brother about someone who had the nerve to call her nephew chubby.

Dinner at the Irvin household was delightful, but with school looming for Mia, their visit was short-lived. Andre, with a sleepy mother-son duo in tow, headed home.

Mia, running on fumes, barely managed to secure Henry in his car seat before succumbing to sleep herself. As for Henry, his wide eyes took in the neon-lit cityscape, a kaleidoscope of colors, and the bustling crowd—all a stark contrast to his usual surroundings.

At a red light, Andre glanced at his sleeping family through the rearview mirror. Catching sight of his son, he softly called out, “Henry?” No response came, just a faint baby murmur. With a smile, Andre reached out and gently held his son’s warm little hand, a simple moment of joy frozen in time.

Molly was bursting with energy again.

“Bro, why don’t you catch some sleep? I’ll go game and won’t bother you,” she offered Chad, always thinking of her brother.

Chad glanced around their cramped space, “You’ve got an hour tops here.”

“That’s hardly enough.”

“If you’re good, it’s more than enough,” Chad retorted.

With that, Molly donned her headset and dialed up their gaming buddy from the Cedillo clan, “Dad, log in. Your girl’s gonna carry you to victory.”

Hansen, on the other end, chuckled, “Can’t, I’m on grandson duty tonight.”

Molly raised an eyebrow in confusion before asking, “Again? Why’s it always you?”

“You know, Andre decided to have Mia stay over at Maplewood Estates for a while. Couldn't bear the thought of them leaving, so I made a deal with him. I get to look after Henry at night.”

Molly half-jokingly offered, “Andre’s being ungrateful. How about I take over for you?”

Hansen glanced at his grandson, now expertly holding his own bottle, “Nice try. Took me ages to get him from Naomi and Anya.”

“Where’s Chad?” Hansen inquired.

“Right here by me,” Molly said, passing one earbud to Chad and prompting him to greet their father.

After a brief exchange and some fatherly advice, Hansen hung up, and Molly tried roping in Leo for a game. Leo’s blunt response? “Nope.”

Realizing she’d be interrupting Andre’s peaceful evening if she messaged Mia, Molly turned her attention to Chad with a mischievous grin, “Chad, you’re not working tomorrow. Movie night?”

Molly didn’t even bother opening the door, returning to bed with a huff. Ignoring Chad’s suggestion of a horror movie, she picked out a comedy instead, settling in for a movie night that didn’t need any more surprises.

Molly watched as everything was set up by Chad, and when Chad thought she’d seen right through his true intentions, Molly nodded in agreement, saying, “Makes sense. I’ve always wanted to watch, but I'm too scared to do it alone. Mia is terrified of ghosts too, and you wouldn’t let me watch it with Leo. Plus, I'm afraid it might give my old man a heart attack…”

So, they ended up picking out a horror movie.

Suddenly, Officer Chad’s arms weren’t empty anymore.

Molly opened the bag and started munching on wedding night snacks, a mix of fruits and nuts, some of which she peeled and fed to him.

As Chad was engrossed in the movie, Molly popped a lychee into his mouth. He opened up, and just like that, took a bite from Molly’s hand.

Shortly after, a peanut made its way to him.

“Finish these and we might have a bundle of joy sooner rather than later.”

Molly looked up, catching a glimpse of Chad’s profile, “So, if you eat them too, does that mean you’ll be the one giving birth?”

Chad: “......”
