Before bed, Mia suddenly remembered something and asked her husband, "Hey, if someone at work was trying to mess with you behind your back, what would you do?"
Andre was busy changing Henry’s diaper and replied, "They wouldn’t dare."
Meanwhile, Anya was still puzzled about something and decided to ask her boyfriend.
Leo said, "Wait till you're the boss's wife, then you'll get it."
Anya was still left scratching her head.
Molly later heard this gossip confirmed by her husband, which matched what Anya had mentioned.
"Chad, remember that girl at our school a couple of years ago who got into trouble with loan sharks? She even dragged poor Leo into it. And this year, someone else got scammed. We can't just fix the symptoms; we’ve got to tackle the root cause. Bad folks don't change their spots, so we need to teach the students to be more careful."
Chad managed to pop home quickly, took a shower, and then got ready, planning to wear his police uniform to a meeting at the station. "This time, you’ve nailed it."
Chad put on his uniform with his badge gleaming and looked at his wife, who was leaning against the door frame with admiration in her eyes.
"Chad, you look so handsome. Whose lucky husband is this?"
Chad turned around, his eyes filled with controlled affection, wrapped his arms around Molly’s waist, and kissed her passionately right there in the closet.
When he left, Molly was a bit shy, her hand unconsciously covering the lips Chad had kissed red.
With autumn’s chill setting in, she stood at the door in a cozy pink and white sweater, waving goodbye to him. Her loose sweater was both to fend off the cold and to hide her baby bump, so the sleeves were long, and her hands barely peeked out when she waved.
Chad glanced back at her through the rearview mirror, his face soft with affection, and drove off.
As soon as Chad left, Molly grabbed her car keys and said, "Mom, I’m heading over to my folks’ place for a bit."
Coleen shouted after her, "Don't start something with your dad again. He called me last time, asking me to pick you up."
"I'm not mad, I'm pregnant, so I wouldn't dare to be upset with him." Molly drove herself back to the Cedillo family home.
At the Cedillo family house, Hansen was up to his usual antics with the butler in the garden.
Holding little Henry, he looked at the hedge in front of them and said, "Let's see if it can hold."
The butler laid down a small mattress, and Hansen held his precious grandson.
Little Henry looked innocently adorable.
Molly quietly moved closer without making a sound.
"Mia and the second one aren’t home, just us two, let’s give it a secret try."
Hansen wanted to test if the hedge could support the weight of a doll, having heard it could hold up to 30 pounds, he wanted to test it with his twenty-something-pound grandson.
So, the butler laid a small mattress on the hedge.
Hansen, with a mischievous grin, said, "Grandson, sorry to trouble you, help grandpa with an experiment."
He gently placed Henry on top of the hedge.
"Alright, old man, I’m going to tell Andre and Mia you used their son as a test dummy." Molly suddenly called out.
Hansen was startled and turned to see his daughter, eyes narrowed in anger, "Molly, weren’t you back at your in-laws'? It hasn't even been 24 hours, and you’re back?"
Molly replied, "Well, Chad's not home, and it's boring alone. Dad, are you ratting me out to my in-laws again?"
Hansen, feeling guilty, tried to stand his ground, "Nope." He had just made a call to "catch up."
Molly pointed, "You must have snitched on me."
Many had heard the good news about Chad’s family, and while congratulating Kendrick, they didn’t hesitate to extend their congratulations to Chad too.
"I see you're not at home, and Molly can’t sit still," Easton, the fortune-teller, noted.
Chad smiled; her restlessness was out of his control now.
The meeting began, and Chad sat up straight, listening intently.
Back at the Cedillo family home.
"You say whatever you want, I’m not afraid of Andre and Mia finding out." Hansen didn’t believe his kids could control him.
Later, he snatched Henry back because the little one wanted to climb and step on bellies, and Molly had a baby bump.
Molly tried to find out what else her dad had said about her, but he wouldn’t budge, "I’ll definitely sell you out."
"I’m not afraid." Hansen was proud.
In the evening, Andre returned home with his wife.
Henry was sprawled on the couch, little hands reaching up to be picked up.
As they entered, Mia tossed her bag to her husband and scooped up her son, “The biggest room at Majestic Dining Enclave can’t even fit more than twenty people. Any other venue ideas, honey?”
Andre replied, “Anything bigger would have to be a ballroom.”
Henry’s chubby hands clung to his mom’s face, trying to get her attention, ready to tattle, “Mooom.”
Mia ignored her son, continuing to talk to her husband, “Even if we are keeping it simple, we need some decorations, right? It’s our son’s first birthday. Pick me up early tomorrow after work, and we’ll check out a few more places.”
