"I just can't figure Annie out. She's got zero interest in anything—gold, silver, jewelry, checks, cash—you name it, she couldn't care less. The only thing that seems to catch her eye is my godson," Conner said, feeling utterly defeated.

Now, he had to rely on a little bundle of joy to get a woman to notice him.

Andre shot back, "That just means you're not trying hard enough."

"Man, you have no idea what kind of woman I've got my sights on. I've bent over backward for her," Conner vented his frustration.

Ever since Annie had taken the initiative to care for him one day, he thought she might have feelings for him. But after just one night of care, when he asked her out for dinner the next day, Annie flatly turned him down. "I took care of you to thank you for inviting me to little Tiger's first birthday. Don't read too much into it."

Conner later "cleverly" figured out that she'd look after him if he was drunk. So, he'd drink until he reeked of alcohol, then his buddy would call her, "Sis-in-law, the boss is drunk, and we can't handle him. He only wants to see you."

The unyielding woman replied, "Knock him out and take him away."

His buddy tried again, "...Sis-in-law, just come and take care of the boss. Your word is the only thing that works."

"During work hours, if you want me to come out, please dial the emergency number and follow the standard procedure to request a police officer."

With that, the merciless woman hung up.

Conner then pretended to be sick.

"Sis-in-law, the boss was ambushed and shot; he's in the ER about to go into surgery. He wants to see you one last time."

There was a pause on the other end before Annie said, "Let his soul come to see me then."

And the call ended once more.

In his friend's office, Conner pointed out the window as if looking for some backup, "Tell me, what kind of woman is she?"

He then dramatically pounded his chest, "How heartless must she be?"

Henry watched his godfather pounding his chest, then curiously looked at his father's chest. He clenched his tiny fist and mimicked the action, "Ah ba ba."

Andre looked at his friend, puzzled, and asked, "Conner, did you forget that the police can track your location through your phone number?"

Conner was speechless.

So, his act of being sick in the ER was because Annie had tracked his phone location!

Suddenly, Conner wasn't as worked up as before. He pulled up a chair and sat in front of Andre, looking at the little treasure in his arms. "Lend me your son for a day, and I'll tell you about your nephew."

Andre's eyes flickered, then he said, "His problems aren't my concern."

"The Xue family from the West is secretly looking into him."

Andre's eyes narrowed, but he didn't react.

Seeing Andre unmoved, Conner added, "The wealthiest man in the West, Patrick from the Mu Corporation, is also quietly investigating Leo."

Andre took a deep breath, stood up, and placed his baby boy into Conner's arms. "I'll go make him some formula; Henry must be hungry."

Finally holding the little bundle of joy he'd been dreaming about, Conner gave his godson a kiss, "Actually, they're not just looking into Leo but also someone who's breached the dark web. Patrick snagged two hitmen from the dark web to protect his wife. They brought intel saying Leo was spotted in Havenbrook, and now both families are on the hunt for Leo."

Andre was preparing the formula, opening the can of milk powder for his son. "Friend or foe?"

Andre added two scoops of milk powder, shaking his son's bottle and handing it to the little one. "Patrick..." he chuckled.

When Conner left, he was dressed in a suit, casually slinging a diaper bag over his shoulder, happily holding the adorable little baby as he headed to the underground parking lot.

Henry was placed in the passenger seat, securely fastened with a seatbelt, his little mouth opening as he reached for the seatbelt.

Henry, seeing the hands constantly trying to hold him but never succeeding, thought they were playing a game with him and happily waved his hands, laughing brightly.

Annie stood firm, hands on her hips, looking at the adorable face wrapped in cuteness, and approached Conner, "The address!"

After saying that, she finally got to hold the soft and tender Little Tiger, and as she was about to kiss Henry, Conner quickly covered Henry's face with his hand and leaned in for a swift steal of a kiss.

"You!" Annie blushed, quickly glancing at the windows, "Conner, are you serious?"

"If you want to kiss him, you have to kiss me first."

The blush on Annie's face hadn't faded as she looked at the pink and tender Henry, turned around, and quickly pecked him, not giving Conner another chance for mischief.

Looking at Henry, the joy in Annie's eyes was almost overflowing.

"Little Tiger, Auntie will give you some candy."

"What aunt? You're his godmother."

Annie glared at Conner before turning and walking into the team.

Just then, Easton, who was handing off a case to Chad, glanced out the window at the chubby little tyke outside, "Oh, Officer Chad, your darling nephew is here again."

Before leaving, Annie went to ask her boss for some time off and then headed out, planning to leave with Henry in her arms.
