" Where's mom and dad?" I asked August whose bag was already in the living room and he was turning off the lights and other things.

" Already ahead of us. You're driving with Tesla and I." August answered absentmindedly.

" And where's Tesla?"

" Outside. Waiting by the car. You know how he is. He hated the idea of spending Christmas with Uncle Rick."

" Well, it's not gonna be that bad. The whole family will be there."

" I guess he had plans with his buddies at work. They were planning on visiting Miami this Christmas." August said as he rolled his bag towards the front door and I followed him.

" He could always leave on Christmas Eve. No one's gonna notice or care." I said.

August didn't respond as he locked the front door. Truly enough, Tesla was standing by the car dressed in his bad boy outfit with a baseball cap covering his bleached blonde hair.

" At long last." He groaned and entered inside the car, sitting down on the driver's seat.

August took my bag and dropped it inside the trunk of the car. I entered the backseat and shut the door. August entered the front seat and shut the door. The next minute, we were already on the road with Tesla playing one of his annoying rap songs.

" What's so fucking special about spending Christmas with Uncle Rick?" Tesla asked.

" It's a family thing. You don't have to be there." August said.

" Of course I had to. I'm the oldest amongst you three and I just had to be there looking like I know what the fuck I'm doing. Sometimes I wished I wasn't the oldest. Too much stupid responsibility."

I smiled while I went through my phone, pretending I wasn't listening to Tesla's complaints.

" At least Vivian will be there." I said. I looked up from my phone to stare at Tesla through the rearview mirror, he was already glaring at me, probably telling me to shut the fuck up.

" What's special about Vivian? She and Tesla don't even get along very well. She hates your guts, Tes." August said.

Vivian was our cousin. Aunt Marie's oldest daughter. She's 24, and my brother, Tesla, had a crush on her. In fact, I think they were secretly dating. How did I know? The rest of the car journey was spent with these two men talking about stupid stuff. Along the way I fell asleep, and when I awoke again, we were already pulling up at uncle Rick's driveway. I couldn't remember the last time I was here though, and the house looked bigger and fancier than the last time I was here.

Uncle Rick, and his wife Janet, were already outside waiting for us, including our mother. We got down from the car and my uncle and his wife pulled us into a hug. I made Tesla carry my bag as I rushed into the house. The living room was quiet, save for Denise, my cousin who was the same age as me standing in the kitchen with nothing but her bikinis.

" Lily." She smiled when she saw me.

She dropped her bottle of juice on the kitchen island and hugged me.

" Yeah." We pulled apart. " Everyone's in the backyard swimming. You should come. They'd be thrilled to see you, especially Faith. She couldn't stop talking about you." Lily said, hand already hooked with mine as she exited the kitchen.

We met August, and Tesla, holding our bags in the living room.

" Hey August. Hi Tesla." Denise greeted them and dragged me towards the backyard.

Denise is Aunt Marie's second daughter, Vivian's younger sister.

When Denise and I got to the backyard, I was awed by what I saw. Almost all my female cousins were there, throwing balls at each other in the pool while some just laid down on the sunlounger with scanty bikinis.

" Hey, Lily." Some of them greeted me.
