James frowned. "Obviously it's because of your weak constitution. The problems just weren't detected while they were inside you. I gave all the babies proper burials. Why are you bringing this up now? Apologize to Rachel immediately!"

I dropped my arm, laughing bitterly at myself.

I'd expected this answer, but why did it still hurt so much?
