Chapter 267
-Grayson’s POV-
The scent of fear clung to the air like smoke. It was thick, heavy, nearly suffocating
Even as I stepped away from the chaos of the wedding hall, my senses remained sharp, my mind processing every sound, every movement. People were still running–some screaming, others too stunned to move. Warriors shouted orders, struggling to restore order, but something about all of this was off.
A severed head alone wouldn’t cause this much mayhem.
Fear? Yes. Disbelief? Absolutely. But this… this was something else. The way people bolted, the way some seemed to be running from something rather than just the scene itself–it didn’t sit right with me. There was more to this. Something unseen. Something dangerous.
I reached out through the mind link to check on her again, ‘Elaine?‘
A beat passed, then her voice came through, steady but clipped, ‘I’m fine. I got out and I’m back at my apartment!
Relief settled in my chest, but it was short–lived, ‘Stay there. Lock the doors. Don’t open them for anyone until I say so?
‘Got it.’
I exhaled sharply and pushed forward.
My warriors had stationed themselves along the estate’s exit paths, trying to prevent people from scattering too far. They had managed to form a perimeter, but the energy in the air was still charged–frantic, unsettled. Something wasn’t right.
Then-
“Alpha King Grayson.”
I turned at the sound of my name.
Ivan was walking toward me, his face tense. He wasn’t panicked–he was too trained for that–but there was urgency in his steps.
The moment he reached me, I didn’t hesitate, “Where is Ava?”
His expression flickered. Surprise flashed across his face before he quickly masked it, “I don’t know, Your Highness. I came to ask if you wanted me to take her.”
Everything in me stilled. My eyes narrowed. My mind instantly latched onto the implications of his words.
“What do you mean take her?” My voice was dangerously low, but I didn’t care, “I had you assigned to a car with her in case Damien did anything. That car left with her. So what do you mean if I wanted you to take her?”
A flicker of something passed through his eyes–surprise, hesitation–before fear took over. He took a step back.
My mind was already working it out.
If he wasn’t in the car, then someone else was. And if someone else was in that car, that meant whoever sent that severed head had planned this.
Ava was not on her way to the safe house.
My wolf growled, the realization settling like ice ingny veins. I turned sharply, already reaching out through the mind link.

Sat,
Chapter 267
Ava?
Silence.
Ava, answer me.
Nothing.
A sharp growl built in my chest. My wolf bristled, pacing beneath my skin. A mind link only failed if someone was unconscious, deliberately blocking it–or too far away.
I clenched my jaw, my hands curling into fists. No. No. No.
Ava was gone.
And I had no idea who had taken her.
My gaze snapped back to Ivan, “Get every available tracker on that car. Now. Find her.”
Ivan stiffened, nodding before rushing off.
I turned, scanning the chaos, my mind racing. Isabella and Eliza had left in the car that was supposed to take him and her out and Rickon was back in the hall trying to see what was wrong and get his wolves out of there.
It all came at me at once. The severed head. The lights going out. The panic. All of it.
It wasn’t just about disrupting the wedding. It was about creating a big enough distraction to make their next move.
And I had walked right into it.
“Shit.”
I moved quickly, pushing through the scrambling crowd. The fear had reached a fever pitch, voices rising, bodies colliding
in a desperate attempt to get out then, like a spark in dry grass the screams escalated.
This time, even worse than before.
Wolves emerged from inside, shifting in panic. Their eyes darted wildly, their claws scraping against the marble floors. I saw the reaction in those who were human–shock, then fear, then complete terror.
And then-
Boom.
The explosion didn’t come from the estate. It came from far beyond the perimeter.
The ground trembled beneath my feet. Fire lit up the night sky in the distance. The scent of smoke burned my nose. I turned, taking in the chaos. It was as if time slowed, each moment stretching into something surreal.
Warriors were shouting, but their voices blurred together.
Humans were trapped, unable to find a way out amidst the panicked wolves.
Some wolves bolted, some tried to fight through the crowd, and others–those more controlled–stood frozen, waiting for
direction.
I needed to act.
Now.

Chapter 267
A deep, guttural growl built in my chest. My wolf pushed forward, demanding control, demanding order. Then I shifted,
Bones cracked, reshaped. My vision sharpened, my senses exploded. Power surged through every fiber of my being, and my massive black wolf stood above them all–towering, dominant
I let out a single, thunderous growl.
Instantly, every single wolf in the vicinity dropped to submission. Some fell to their stomachs, others lowered their heads, their bodies trembling. The energy in the air shifted immediately,
Another growl rumbled through me, my message clear.
‘Shift back. Now
One by one, the wolves obeyed, reverting to their human forms.
The chaos didn’t vanish entirely, but the storm had been tamed. For now.
I let out another growl, my body coiled to move, my senses locked onto the only thing that mattered–tracking Ava’s scent. My muscles tensed, ready to push forward, to hunt, to end whoever had dared take her.
“Grayson!”
The voice cut through the air like a blade. My wolf snarled, turning sharply toward the source,
Rickon.
His eyes were wide, filled with something I had rarely seen in him–panic. He was pushing through the crowd, his steps. urgent, his expression strained.
The moment he reached me, the words tumbled out, “Isabella. I felt it. Something is wrong.”
The meaning hit me instantly.
Mate bonds didn’t lie. If he felt something, then something had happened.
My wolf bristled, torn between tearing off after Ava and dealing with this new threat or dealing with this madness. My jaw clenched. Damn it.
I shifted back, bones snapping and twisting as I returned to my human form. My breath was steady, measured, even as my pulse hammered against my skull. A warrior rushed forward, shoving a bundle of clothes into my hands. I took them, barely noticing the chaos still unfolding around me.
Bodies–so many bodies.
Some were wolves who had shifted back, naked and dazed, trying to reorient themselves. Others were humans–still shaking, eyes blown wide with shock. Some clung to each other, others pressed themselves against the walls, trying to comprehend what they had just witnessed.
I pulled on my pants and shirt, my mind already shifting back to what needed to be done. There was no time for hesitaon.
I looked at Rickon, “Someone took Ava.”
His entire body went rigid.
“I need to find her,” I continued, voice even, “But you go. Find Isabella. I’ll handle things here.”
