Rosalind's POV

I sat in the living room waiting for him, but he still hasn't come back from his run.

I finally see my dad and run over to him, "Dad! I think Clay might be in trouble! He went out for a run and hasn't come back!"

My dad's eyes widen before he takes me upstairs to his and mom's room, which is stupid since he should be going out to find Clay!

"Rose," he says closing the door. "Alpha Clayton didn't go for a run, he went away for awhile."

I pause, "What do you mean he went away for awhile?"

"I mean, he's left, I don't know how long for, but it was about something important." My dad tells me.

Clay didn't tell me or even say bye.

"Oh.. Okay." I say before going downstairs again.

*Two months after he left*

"Rose, come on let's go prank someone!" Alexa says grabbing my hand and starts pulling me towards the door.

"Okay." I say as we go outside.

I didn't prank anyone at all though, I just sat watching for a car to pull in with Clayton inside it.

*Six months after he left*

"Rose," my mom sighs. She walks over to me sitting on the portch in the cold winter air. "Come inside, it's getting late."

"Okay." I say as she walks back in.

I feel like he left because of me — like I did something wrong. I sigh and get up and go back inside the house.

*One year after he left*

"Rose get up, It's 1 pm. You can't sleep all day." My dad's voice says.

"No go away. I need more sleep, come back in a month."

I've become fond of sleep - you forget everyone and everything for awhile.

Helps me forget about Clay and his chocolate eyes.

*Five years after he left*

I smile at my boyfriend Ace while he walks over to me. He picks me up and spins me around.
