Sheryl's eyes were glazed over, and her focus blurred as she looked at Nick in utter disbelief. "Nick, where is Charles?"

Nick lowered his head, not knowing what to say. He could see how sad Sheryl was right now. How was he supposed to tell Sheryl that they hadn't found Charles yet? That would only crush Sheryl's hopes again. He couldn't imagine what would happen to Sheryl if she found out the truth.

Nick's uncomfortable silence was answer enough for Sheryl.

She could no longer maintain her calm. The tears that burst forth from her eyes carried an unimaginable grief that would melt any person's heart, including Nick's.

"Sher, don't worry. I am sure Charles is okay. Nothing is going to happen to him, trust me!" Nick didn't know what else to say. He furrowed his brows and looked at Sheryl nervously, hoping to ease, if not erase, her sorrow with his words.

Sheryl, however, found no assurance in Nick's words because she knew that he was just trying to comfort her. As she looked down at her feet and shook her head, even her loose hair, which veiled her face couldn't hide the tears from his eyes.

The thought that Charles would suddenly disappear from her life had never crossed her mind before. Although they were getting a divorce, Sheryl couldn't even imagine what it would be like to never see Charles again.

There was a time when she couldn't even think of being separated from him, let alone be separated by death. Her heart was heavy, burdened by the grief that was suffocating her.

"Sher, are you okay?" Nick walked up to Sheryl, worried by her lack of response.

Sheryl gasped for air, clutching at her chest as if she were having a heart attack. Black filled the edges of her vision, but suddenly she could hear her own heart beating inside her chest again.

She gradually managed to compose herself. Failing to utter a word in response, she shook her head at Nick, indicating to him that she was okay.

"Sher, please, get some rest. Charles is going to be fine," Nick urged. What else could Nick say?

Sheryl pushed him aside without saying anything and sat on her bed to look out the window, immersed in sorrow.

Nick knew he needed to stop Sheryl from blaming herself. Allowing her to drown in sadness wouldn't help them find Charles any faster, and more importantly, it was bad for Sheryl's mental health, to say the least. He racked his brain, trying to come up with a solution. In the end, he decided to ask Isla for help.

At Isla's home

Although Isla didn't have any problems getting to sleep after she hung up on Nick last night, she couldn't stop thinking about Sheryl, which forced her out of bed earlier than she would have preferred.

It was rare for Isla to get up this early. Aron knew that Isla was worried about Sheryl, so he pulled her into his arms and said, "Isla, we should trust Sheryl's judgment. She is going to be fine."

"I trust Sheryl, but I don't trust Leila. That woman will do anything to get Charles. I don't know what she will do to Sheryl if she goes crazy." The more she thought about it, the more it worried Isla.

Aron smiled, caressed her hair affectionately, and said, "Isn't Nick also in Malaysia? Don't you trust him? I'm sure he will take care of Sheryl."

"You're right, Aron. Nick hasn't called me yet, so I guess everything is okay." The moment Isla found comfort in his words a big smile spread across her face.

Aron felt relieved to see Isla's smile, and then he left to make breakfast for her. After they finished breakfast, Aron drove Isla to the Cloud Advertising Company.

When they arrived at the Cloud Advertising Company, Isla was sitting in the passenger's seat, so lost in thought that she didn't even realize that they had arrived. Aron snapped his fingers to catch her attention. "Isla, we're here. Stop worrying about things you can't control. You can't change anything just by thinking about it."

"I know. Thanks." After Aron broke her reverie, Isla looked around, cheeks mottled in embarrassment and smiled. "Well, I should go to work now. Drive safely!"

"I will pick you up for lunch," Aron said, and then he kissed Isla on the forehead. He waited for her to get to the elevator first before he drove away.
