Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is The Apple of My Eye. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter 1821 Just Came To The Point. Let's read the author's The Apple of My Eye Internet story right here.
When Leila had taken out the false account book, she knew she had carried out many underhanded transactions that went against usual practice. As a result, she didn't want to make a scene and attract attention towards herself.
"Goodbye," Leila said. She didn't even look at the head of the finance department. Instead, she immediately drove her out the door.
The head of the finance department knew that no matter what she would say to Leila, it would all fall on deaf ears. The more she tried to defend herself, the more humiliation she would suffer. Without a second thought, she turned around and walked out of Leila's office.
After the head of the finance department left, Leila fired a few more employees.
"Why am I getting fired?" the head of the architecture department asked the same question as the head of the finance department.
In fact, this was the third person to ask Leila that question. She sat there, without a care in the world as she spread her hands and said, "Why? Because I am the president of the company. If you have any complaints or grievances, please, feel free to report them to Charles!"
Leila's complacency irritated the head of the architecture department. He would have strangled her with his own hands, if she weren't a woman.
"Leila, we will tell President Lu what you've done when he comes back," he said. Then, instead of waiting for a response from Leila he turned around and walked away just like Miss Zhang did.
For a moment, those people who were faithful to Charles in the company were shocked because they knew that the ones who were being fired were the experienced employees, who had been working in the company for decades. No one had any idea what Leila's intentions were.
"I don't understand! What is Leila trying to accomplish? Some of them had been working in the company since the very beginning. How could she just fire them like that? It's such a disgrace!" Some of senior employees got together and started blaming Leila.
"Who knows? She used to be a secretary. What does she know! Why isn't Mrs. Lu stopping her? Is she seriously going to let Leila take over the company?"
They talked for a while, but they didn't know what to do. At last, they decided to bring the matter to David's attention.
"What's the matter?" David didn't know what had happened and was startled to see them.
One of them, who couldn't control his temper any longer, walked up to David and said, "Leila has been on a rampage—firing all the experienced employees from the company—while you've sat here and done nothing!"
David was at a loss for words. He lifted his face to look straight at his colleague and shook his head to deny any knowledge of what had been going on.
He didn't know what was happening in the company because he was trying to contact Charles in Malaysia. Suffice it to say, the news came as a big shock to him.
"Leila has fired the ones who were faithful to President Lu. David, what on earth is she doing?" The other employees started complaining to David. They even started to take out their anger on him.
"Isn't Leila in love with President Lu? Then why is she set on destroying everything he worked so hard for?"
They kept yammering at each other, not caring whether David understood them or not.
After a long while, David urged them to calm down and said, "Okay! I will personally talk to Leila. Don't worry about that. Please, go back to work first."
David looked at everybody with knitted eyebrows. In truth, even he didn't know what to do either.
Since David assured them that he would talk to Leila, they all quietly agreed to go back to work.
After they left, David took a moment to process his thoughts before he decided to have a word with Leila.
Leila, who found herself under a pile of papers, was immediately displeased to see David come in without even knocking. With furrowed eyebrows, she put down the pen and said, "David, you should know better than to enter someone's office without knocking at the door at least once. Especially, if the office you are entering is the company president's office!"
David immediately realized his recklessness and lowered his head to apologize. "I am sorry for being rude. That wasn't my intention."
