Leila was already in a bad mood, and the sight of Holley had made it worse.

It had been a long and tough day for Leila. All she wanted to do was to go back and lie in bed. However, when she was back in the Dream Garden, she heard some bad news.

"Leila, did you hear about it? Charles is alive! Call David to confirm if it is true!" Before Leila could sit down, Melissa held Leila's hand and uttered these words in excitement. In the past few days, Melissa had been gloomy, but her enthusiasm had now returned in full force.

Leila looked at Melissa in disbelief, her eyes wide open.

'What does it mean? Is Charles still alive?!' Leila thought to herself, confused and scared at the same time. She couldn't imagine what would happen to her once Charles came back. 'No! He can't find out what I have done, ' she thought feeling miserable.

"Aunt Melissa, what do you mean? Where did you hear this news from?" Leila feigned a smile and asked Melissa, trying her best to remain calm.

Melissa was too excited to notice the worry and anxiety on Leila's face. She pulled Leila into an embrace and said, "It doesn't matter where I heard about it from. The most important thing is to confirm the news. Hurry up and call David, Leila."

"Okay, okay, I'm calling him now. Please, calm down, Aunt Melissa," Leila said as she took out her cell phone. But her mind was muddled. 'If David tells me that Charles is alive, what am I supposed to do?' Leila wondered.

Her mind had already started to think about a lot of possibilities as she waited for David to answer her call. A few minutes had passed, yet no one picked up the call. Leila couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"Aunt Melissa, David isn't answering my call. But don't worry. I'll ask someone else to look for Charles. They will call us as soon as they get any updates," Leila said as she patted Melissa's shoulder concernedly, even though she was elated inside.

Hearing Leila, Melissa couldn't help but feel disappointed. What Leila said had dashed her hope. Her earlier enthusiasm was drained. Now Melissa thought it was better to not get any answers. She would simply hold onto the hope that Charles was alive somewhere.

After Leila tucked Melissa in, she thought about what Melissa had told her. The idea of Charles being alive was driving her crazy. She tossed and turned but couldn't fall asleep. The next day, she got up early and went to the company.

It was just one night. However, when Leila got to the company, everyone was talking about Charles. They seemed pretty sure that he was still alive. Their talking almost convinced Leila that Charles had indeed survived. Now she wanted to know if anyone could provide some evidence to confirm it. After speaking to one of the employees, she was told that Charles was recovering in Malaysia. Another employee said it was only a matter of days before he would return to China.

All of this talk made Leila feel petrified. She was startled as she heard people talking about Charles' return. It almost gave her a panic attack. 'Oh, God! My worst nightmare is going to come true. Charles can't find out what I have done! If that happens, I will end up losing everything!' Leila thought anxiously. She clearly knew that she wouldn't be able to continue to work here if that was the case. Not only that, she would probably be kicked out of the Dream Garden for what she had done.

Now she envisioned herself being thrown out by Melissa and Charles. 'What will I do? Will I have to wander around the streets like a beggar?' Leila thought, and chills ran down her spine. Her thoughts were driving her crazy. Immediately, she made up her mind to call a private detective who would help her track Charles down. She needed to confirm the news. She realized that sitting there and worrying wouldn't do her any good.

Inside her head, she already had a new plan brewing. If Charles was alive, like everyone liked to believe, then she was willing to change that. At any cost, she would find a way to stop him from coming back. Killing Charles abroad would be much easier than letting him return. Besides, once Charles was dead, Leila had nothing to worry about. She wouldn't even need to be scared of Ferry.

Back in Malaysia, Charles was imagining his return.

He consoled himself, saying that, after a few days, he would be able to leave the hospital. In truth, he felt like he recovered quite well, so he asked David to consult the doctor. He wanted to know when exactly he could be discharged.

David went to the doctor's office and then returned to the ward very soon. A big smile was plastered on his face, which made Charles hopeful.

"Looking at your smile, I'd guess that I can be discharged in no time! People who don't know you might think you're my fiancé," Charles teased David as David was desperate to take Charles back to China.

"President Lu, don't tease me. Do you have any idea how worried I was? Without us, Leila is going to damage our company! You can't imagine how I suffered in your absence!" David said to Charles in frustration.

Charles didn't seem to care much. He shrugged and said to David, "Now that I can be discharged, can you help me go through the procedures?"

David nodded at Charles and went to find the doctor. A few moments later, Franklin and Angel came to Charles' ward.

They were coming to visit Charles. But as they walked in, they caught sight of Charles packing his luggage. They were a little bit embarrassed, especially Franklin. He rubbed his head and smiled at Charles, saying, "President Lu, are you leaving already?"
