Soon, the car arrived at the Shining Company.

"Mr. Lu, we're here!" said David.

"Go upstairs right now. Ask the secretary to be in my office in 15 minutes." Charles promptly ordered. Then he went to the elevator.

David had no idea what Charles was going to do. Even though he had his doubts, he didn't raise it to Charles.

Charles went to his office alone. After pondering for a long while, David decided to knock on his door.

"Come in!"

Charles seemed to be buried in paperwork. When he saw David, he asked, "What's up?"

"Mr. Lu, what do you want to do?" David finally asked. He couldn't get it off his mind, and this was the only way he was going to get the answers to his questions.

"Why don't you see for yourself?" Charles said as he handed the documents he had in his hands to David.

Quizzically looking at Charles, David took the documents.

When he had finished skimming thorough the files, he looked at Charles in disbelief.

"All right, all right. Just get this done. Send it out. I need to make sure she's safe!" Charles said as if he'd read David's mind. He waved his hand, gesturing for David to leave.

David knew how painful this must be for Charles. He couldn't imagine what it was like to make a decision like this. He needed to do his job right because he didn't want to add to Charles' problems any further.

In the Cloud Advertising Company, Sheryl was sitting in her office.

She seemed so upset after she had returned from the hospital. It was like she wasn't seeing or hearing anyone else.

Isla racked her brain, trying to figure out a way to cheer Sheryl up. She'd talked in length to Phoebe about this, but they couldn't come up with anything.

Suddenly, a representative from the Shining Company arrived at their office.

Isla grew furious upon seeing the representative. With her head held high, she spat, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Ms. Zhao, I'm Monica. I'm a secretary at the Shining Company. Mr. Lu asked me to bring this over. It's for Ms. Xia," Monica stuttered upon seeing the angry Isla.

"What's that?" Isla furrowed her eyebrows.

The moment Isla took the envelope, Monica quickly left.

Isla just ignored her. She wanted to know what was in the envelope.

"Stay here! I'll get Sheryl!" Isla said to Phoebe, and then she walked to Sheryl's office.

Sheryl was lost in her own thoughts and was looking out the window when she saw Isla come in. Squeezing a weak smile, she said, "I'm fine, really!"

"I know. I'm not asking you that. I've got something from Charles. He asked his secretary to bring it to you!" Isla wasn't really sure whether this was the right thing to do or not. She had thought of first taking a look herself before giving it to Sheryl. After some hesitation, she had decided against it.

At the mention of Charles, Sheryl's face instantly turned grim. Walking over to Isla, Sheryl took the envelope and tore it open.

Once she finished reading, she slumped to the ground.

For the longest time, she'd been trying to get Charles to agree to the divorce, and he just kept saying no to her. Now, it was he who wanted to get a divorce. He'd made it clear in his letter—he wanted a divorce, and Sheryl could keep the house, the kids, and other properties as long as she agreed to divorce him.
