At that moment, the door of the emergency room opened again.

Black turned the second he heard the door. The nurses brought Holley out on a bed.

"Holley!" Black cried as he rushed over to her. He couldn't wait to see her, and he even forgot to ask the doctors about her.

However, he didn't realize that Holley was unconscious until he was finally next to the bed.

"Doctor, what's wrong..." Black was very worried. He murmured, "Why isn't she waking up? Why? You said she was fine."

"Don't worry! She's fine. It's just that she had a miscarriage, so she's very weak. Right now, she's in a state of narcosis, that's why she's unconscious."

"What? Miscarriage?" Black was so shocked. He couldn't believe that Holley had a miscarriage.

"That's right. There were some complications. This is her first time to be pregnant, right? When she arrived here, she was already experiencing some pain in her womb. That's when she lost the baby," the doctor patiently explained as he looked at Black.

He couldn't help but feel guilty when he saw the miserable look on Black's face.

However, he had to follow an agreement, so he had no choice but to lie to Black.

After a while, it seemed as if Black had recovered and was coming back to his senses. He then took a deep breath and said, "It's fine. We can have another baby again in the future, as long as Holley is safe now."

Black consoled himself. Still, he felt nervous. He knew that it would be more difficult for him and Holley now that they'd lost a baby.

In the ward, Holley was still lying unconscious in the bed. Black was sitting by the bedside with his eyes fixed on her pale face.

"Holley, I'm so sorry that I didn't do a better job taking care of you. From now on, I'm not going to let anything happen to you..." Black held Holley's hands firmly and put them on his face. He looked and felt guilty.

Maybe if he hadn't taken Holley out for a walk in the park, she wouldn't be here right now. Maybe if he'd done a better job taking care of her, she wouldn't be here right now.

He loved Holley more than anything else. He was never going to let her go. He wanted to stay with her forever.

"Black..." All of a sudden, a soft voice pulled Black back to reality.

Black was shocked as he turned to Holley.

As he had expected, Holley had woken up and was looking at Black with a miserable expression on her face.

"Holley!" Black was so excited to see that she had woken up that he didn't know what to say. He could feel a pang of pain shooting through his chest as he thought of the baby that they had just lost. At that moment, he was conflicted with feelings of both grief and joy.

"Black, we... we lost the baby, didn't we?" Holley asked after a few seconds, fixing her eyes on his face.

It seemed as if Holley already knew that something had happened, so Black didn't see the point of beating around the bush—he needed to tell her the truth.

"Holley, don't be sad. We can make another baby in the future. We love each other, and that's all that matters," Black tried to comfort Holley.

"No! We won't!" Holley became emotional suddenly. Upon hearing this, she began to vigorously shake her head as she cried, "Black, if we don't have a baby, your father won't allow us to get married! He'll stop our marriage before it even happens!"

Black wrapped his arms around Holley, not knowing what to say. He did his best to comfort her. "Don't worry, Holley. I'll talk to my father, and I'll do my best. I'll never leave you, I promise. Please, trust me."
