Two years later
Draco POV
Tatina has struggled so much over the last few years with everything that happened to her while she was with Craig. She has never went into much details about those nights she was with him before I could rescue her. She has consumed herself in her work.
She works day and night trying to find auctions to shut the shit show down. I work by her side mostly. I did not go with her a few months ago. She went into a auctioneers house. What she found pushed her to work harder. She pulled three women out. Only one survived, and she was left permanently blind. After that day Tatina has worked harder than ever to stop the auctions.
I think our greatest victory came when the vampire authority outlawed auctions. Underground auctions, which have always been illegal now carry the death penalty. Anyone found operating an underground auction will be burned to death.
I sit this morning waiting for her to come back from her hunt last night. She wanted to go alone. I let her go by herself when she wants. She is tough. I have no doubt she can take care of herself.
I fell head over heels in love with her a few months after she was here with me. Something about her tenacity that I had never seen before in a woman. She says she loves me too, but I am not sure if she does. We fuck like beasts, we love hard, and we work our asses off. I will love her forever, but someday I feel she will leave me.
The door opens to our home. She comes into the kitchen where I am drinking my coffee. She sits down in my lap.
"Rough night?" I ask her.
She kisses my cheek.
"Not really, it went smoothly. I was able to get everyone out and call the authority," Tatina says.
"You seriously did not kill any of the vampires?" I ask.
"I killed all of them, but i left the bodies for the authority to deal with," Tatina says.
I kiss the back of her head. She is proud of herself. "Good job," I say to her.
"I was thinking we could spend the day together," Tatina says.
"Sounds good to me," I say.
Spending the day with her, no auctions, no other vampires to deal with, only she and I.
"what do you want to do for the day?" I ask her.
"I was thinking we could spend the day in bed," Tatina says.
I do not think I have touched her in a while. She has been extremely upset recently. Her father passed on, that took a toil on her, then a few bad auctions. I let her bury herself in her work. She always comes back around to me. When she does it is worth the wait.
"Oh really," I say to her.
"Yeah, I know i have been distant, I wanted to take a day to make up for it," Tatina says.
I pull her close to me. "You know I love you. I will go through hell with you," I say to her.
