Chapter 68 novel The Bad Boy Next Room (Charlie and Taylor)
“Taylor, I’m running late. I can’t wait for you anymore!” Charlie said as she buttoned her pants. She stuffed her books inside her bag before rushing into the hallway.
Taylor was still in the shower. Dripping wet, he peeked outside the bathroom door and said, “Hey! Hey! Forgetting something, Girlfriend?”
“Are you kidding me right now?” Charlie grumbled but rushed back just to give him a quick kiss.
“We kiss when we leave and when we see each other. It’s our thing,” Taylor said. “We don’t forget our thing!”
“I’m not going to argue with you,” Charlie said, already heading for the door. “Bye, see you at school!”
Days came and went. Everything had been great so far between Charlie and Taylor. Being an official couple gave them more freedom to express themselves.
At school, Charlie had more confidence in calling Taylor her boyfriend. She no longer hesitated to look for him when she needed to, and attending his basketball practices had already become a habit.
At home, they kissed a lot, but thankfully, they both knew their limits. When Charlie had exams, Taylor took it seriously and studied with her. Once that week, Taylor locked himself in his room to study, calling Charlie his ‘temptation.’ But after finishing, he snuck into her room just to sleep.
There was just one thing Charlie had yet to accomplish: telling her father about Taylor. Most of the time, she was too nervous to bring it up. On rare occasions, she gathered the courage, but Adrian was either too busy or managed to dodge the conversation.
Charlie hoped the right moment would come soon because Taylor had been very open about their relationship, and she knew it was only fair that he met her family too.
The rest of her day went by as usual. Encounters with Luke and Regina no longer affected her. Strangely, her relationship with Taylor still seemed to annoy them, especially her former best friends.
However, Charlie could not be bothered. All she wanted was to look forward to every day with Taylor.
Of course, it was not always perfect. There were still times when her handsome boyfriend got under her skin… just like that afternoon.
“Charlie!” Taylor called from the hallway. “I need a minute.”
As agreed, Taylor greeted her with a kiss in front of everyone. Then, he guided her into an empty classroom.
“What are we doing—” Charlie started, but her words were cut off as Taylor crashed his lips against hers.
The kiss left her breathless for a good second. When Taylor pulled away, he said in a low, teasing tone, “You look really cute today. I thought I should tell you that.”
Admittedly, Charlie had put in a little more effort that day. She wore a stylish blouse and fitted jeans—not her usual baby shirt or plain blouse. Her hair was pulled into a high ponytail, which she supposed complimented her slender neck.
She chuckled, answering, “Thanks, Babe.”
“Anyway,” Taylor continued, “I came to tell you that Tristan and his friends are playing at The Nook & Brew Café tonight. They start at six. Since I have basketball practice, I was wondering if you could check on him. I’ll be there, but I might be late.”
