(Eros Pov)

After Eden tried to fill me on everything that had happened… My teeth ached from how hard I clenched them. I was beyond livid.

I was livid at everything, especially Pison.

Pison.

How could he do this?

I never imagined such great betrayal from my once favorite cousin. If only Pison had done a good job of ruling in the first place, we wouldn't have been where we are right now.

However it was left to me to save the people from utter destruction and yet Pison was determined to take me out, to fight for a throne that would have never been his if only I had gathered enough courage to take charge in the first place.

Not only did Pison attempt to kill me several times, but now he was after my family.

I would never forgive him for that or even let him lay a finger on what is mine.

How could a man be so selfish? Pison wanted everything, the power, the throne, the people, my mate, my child and my life. It was beyond ridiculous.

I never knew there was darkness in him. If only I had seen a glimpse of it when we were younger, maybe I might have been more careful about my choices.

Rage pumped through my veins, and all I could see was red hot fury. I was pissed.

There was no way he would get my mate. The only way to end all of this was to kill Pison.

“I will go.” I heard Eden say.

I gave her a sharp look, my attention fully riveted on her.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“I will do what Pison asked. I will take Lily along with me and go into the palace to meet Pison.” Eden said softly.

“No!” I thundered.

There was no debating that.

Eden sighed and looked away for a second. She placed one hand over the back of her neck as she allowed herself to think for a second.

I waited, ready to wade off every thought about going to meet Pison away.

“I can do this, trust me. All I need to do, is to win Pison’s trust and kill him.” Eden said.

I scoffed, everything about what she said only made my anger increase. My eyes glowed slightly and I felt a touch on my shoulder.

“Calm down!” Lord Shevek said from behind me.

I turned to him in fury. “What do you mean by calm down!” I roared. “How can I be cool with Pison’s decision to kill me and take away my mate and territory?”

Lord Shevek didn't back down at my anger. Instead, he sighed. “I understand, but you don't need to always rush into action in such matters, because it will do us no good if you get killed.”

Lord Shevek shook his head. He looked at Eden. “We need a plan, a very good plan. From what I see, Pison seems to like Eden for some reason, and Eden has his daughter. If things are the way they are, then he wants Eden to be his queen. If not, he only wants to lure her in and kill her.”

“You think I don't know that?” I raised a brow at Lord Shevek. I was after the fact that Eden should just stay behind while I go.

“We need a plan for both situations, something we can always fall back on if things don't go the way we think it would.” Lord Shevek said calmly.

He continued “Eden and Lily are the only key we have to saving the people. It's certain he would not kill Lily if truly she is his daughter, but Eden…”

We all understood.

“So what do we do? What do you have in mind?” Eden asked.

Lord Shevek thought for a while, then gestured at us. “Come closer.” He said.

We all moved closer, our heads locked together as we heard Lord Shevek tell us what he thought would be a perfect plan, and at the end of it all, I agreed it was a solid game plan.

We finally agreed on it, and Eden moved away to get ready. She went to her tent that had been destroyed and looked around for any clothes that hadn't been shred to pieces yet.

She finally found a blue cloak, and some clothes. I watched her hide among the trees to dress up.

When she was done, she came out, wearing the clothes. She reached out for Lily, to strap on her back before wearing the blue cloak.

She leaned into Zion in my arms, and kissed his forehead. Then she smiled at me softly. “Farewell, my love. See you soon.”

And with that, I watched my mate sprint away into the sunset, a piece of my heart going along with her…
