“Eden…”
King Pison purred as he stared at me. He swallowed slightly as his gaze raked across my body length.
My spine crawled with disgust at his attention.
Pison suddenly looked away from me and gave Alpha Griffin his attention. He became more serious as the aura around him darkened.
“What information do you have on other packs?’ King Pison asked Alpha Griffin.
I felt a little bit of relief as I realized that this was more like a business meeting more than anything else. For a moment, I imagined that it was a trap, maybe Arthur finally decided to betray me.
I looked at Arthur who gave me a soft smile before shuffling behind King Pison’s chair. He looked like a servant. But still, I wondered why they made me sit to listen to them.
Alpha Griffin’s voice jerked me back to reality.
“We have everything under control.” Alpha Griffin said. “Our men are the ones in charge of every terrority.”
“Has there been any form of resistance from the people?” Pison asked
Alpha Griffin nodded slightly. “A few. But we had it controlled immediately.”
“What about the Vampires? Have those leeches finally submitted?” King Pison raised a brow.
Griffin chuckled. “Of course. It didn't take us a lot to force them to. Especially with Shevek’s coven. All those who resisted were burnt to the ground.”
Pison smirked. “I like that.”
My face turned white and Alpha Griffin eyed me with a nasty smirk; an expression that suggested that he would take pleasure in squeezing the life out of me if he could.
I looked away, and focused on a spot on the wall as I tried hard not to speak. Different thoughts ran through my mind.
It was clear that Pison now had his men everywhere both in the Vampire's covens and the werewolf packs. He had already stationed his men everywhere who executed his evil plans.
“Make sure they do not have a day to themselves, lest they begin to think foolish about fighting back.” Pison said.
I felt a strange tick in me. This was because I was guilty of trying to encourage people to fight back, something that I knew would greatly infuriate Pison if he ever discovered.
I kept silent and listened to the conversation between King Pison and Alpha Griffin.
Pison’s warriors/ rogues and members of their cult had taken over each pack and became heads there.
Pison was in total control of the whole realm.
The only part he had no access to, was the human world. And that is what Pison is now aiming for- to terrorize the world.
I thought of my loved ones, and the only person I hadn’t seen since the war.
Olivia.
My baby sister.
I had a strange feeling that I was being watched, I looked up and saw Alpha Griffin purse his lips with a small frown as he threw a question at Pison. “Have you made your choice for a queen?”
Pison raised a brow. “Not yet…” he trailed off.
Griffin’s eyes hardened. “My daughter would have been the best choice.”
My blood ran cold. My heart dropped to my stomach as I stared at him in disbelief.
I suddenly grabbed my head and held the edge of the table tightly. I was light headed. I closed my eyes and tried to find composure before I opened it again and looked at Alpha Griffin in fury.
“You killed my sister?” I bit out.
Alpha Griffin shrugged. “She was of no use to me, besides her mother had been nothing but a dog, prancing about with that Vampire.”
Tears pooled in my eyes as I felt a great urge to cry. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
Memories of my childhood with Olivia flashed through my mind and the more I imagined that my little sister was killed by her own father, the more devastated I felt.
“She trusted you. She gave everything up for your love. You were supposed to be her father, yet you killed her?” I asked in shock.
Alpha Griffin laughed. “She made her choices. She wouldn't stop complaining about what we did to Eros, and honestly I was tired of that rat. She was never my choice for a queen. Lyra was. You also took my daughter away from me, and now, we’re even!”
It took everything in me not to rush at Alpha Griffin and tear him into shreds… but it was a bad timing. They’d kill me.
I kept mute, holding in my rage.
As Alpha Griffin walked away, helpless tears rolled down my eyes.
Arthur rushed to my side and immediately patted me. “All of that was an act. I'm still on your side.” He whispered.
I nodded but all I could think of was my sister.
It was all my fault. I should have fought tooth and nail to keep Olivia beside me, but now, I lost her.
