Angel POV.

For weeks, we have been holed up in the house. Everyday someone comes calling but I ignore the door. The only time I open it is for the grocery delivery. I spiralled into depression but would only break when Rebel was asleep at night. I would sob in the shower, not wanting her to hear me.

Every day, we play different games and watch a shit tonne of Disney movies. We both sing and laugh until the night seeps in and I break down again in a vicious cycle of pain and anger. The feeling of being useless, weak, how they laughed at my futile attempt to get away from them.

I know the ladies of the MC have been knocking because I check the camera on the front door. I know Savage watches the house of a night and he has one of his men watching during the day. I don’t acknowledge any of them.

I was still healing mentally, physically, and emotionally. But I woke up this morning and had enough of this wallowing. Today we are in the back garden and it’s a nice sunny morning, so we are in the pool. Rebel is in a life jacket and on a huge unicorn floaty. Boomer is swimming as well.

Rebel is laughing her little head off as I pull her around the shallow part of the pool in her floaty. When an image enters my head and I stop seeing it clearly. The tattoo. How did I forget that damn tattoo?

“Mommy, Ariel.” My thoughts are pulled back as I smile at her and I pick her up in my arms and swim with her not too deep. She giggles as I swim like a mermaid with her. She claps and giggles as I splash her and she splashes me.

“Ok, missy, come on time to get out and have a nap.” I say to her, and she groans and yawns. I chuckle. We have been in here all morning and I could use a rest. I’m still healing and can move more freely, but I get out of breath easily.

Once I have her dried and in her pyjamas. She has her lunch and I take her to her room for a nap. She is out like a light.

I head towards my room and search for paper and pencils. The tattoo is still in my head. If I can sketch it, then maybe someone will know what it means and where it was done.

I sit on my bed, crossing my legs and get to work. Sketching and colouring as I watch as the image comes to life against the white paper. After what seems like hours, I look at it, picking it up and I nod at it.

It is exactly how I saw it. The white cobra with black eyes with its mouth open and fangs dripping green venom wrapped around a skull with red flowers in the eye sockets, dripping blood down the cheekbones and jaw. I shudder as I look at it. I will find you. I even have the shading down to a tee.

I grab my phone and the picture taking a picture of it; I send it to my uncle Gianni. A crackle comes through the baby monitor. I know she is starting to wake.

Uncle G: Baby girl, what is this? Are you ok? Xx.

Me: That is a tattoo that was on one of the men. I’m ok, can you come here please and don’t tell my parents? I need your help in finding them. xx

Uncle G: Leave it with me, baby girl. I’ll be there tomorrow. Take care of yourself. Love you sweetheart xx.

Me: Love you too, see you when you get here xx
