Seeing people looking at them, Christina reminded, “Alright, let’s go home first.”

Brittany looked at the unfamiliar man in confusion. Once he got into his car and left, she turned to Christina and asked, “Mom, who was that man?”

“We’ll talk about it at home.” The entrance to the police station wasn’t the right place for this conversation, so Christina and Gregory took Brittany back to the Sullivan family’s villa.

As soon as Brittany stepped into the villa, she noticed that it looked completely different. The antique paintings and calligraphy that were once displayed were gone. The place was messy as if it had been ransacked. She looked around but couldn’t find the housekeeper.

“Mom, where’s the housekeeper?” she asked, wanting them to prepare her bath.

Gregory looked slightly awkward. “I dismissed them.”

However, his discomfort didn’t last long–he knew it wouldn’t be long before he could live a life of luxury again.

“Brittany, take a bath and change your clothes. Once you’re ready, we have something to tell you,” Christina urged, while she herself went to handle another matter.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Paisley sneezed and casually rubbed her nose. “Ah–chool”

“Paisy, are you catching a cold?” Maria asked.

“I’m fine, just a ticklish nose.” Lately, her nose had been itching a lot.

Maria put down the items in her hands and said, “I noticed the house next door was dark when I got back earlier. It seems Max has left Harrowfell. I wonder if he’ll come back.”

Paisley didn’t pay it much attention. She picked up her bag, ready to leave. “Maria, I’m heading to the film set. I’ll be back tonight.”

“Alright,” Maria replied, though she felt a vague sense of unease watching Paisley leave.
