“Zac, what are you doing here?” Noel didn’t expect to see Isaac there. 

The mention of Brittany made his face change as he asked, “Zac, have you seen Bri?” 

Isaac quickly left with Noel hot on his heels. Noel had intended to join him in his car but was left behind. 

“What’s going on?” Noel kicked the air in frustration, feeling quite pissed off. 

William sustained a serious injury resulting in a large abdominal bruise. However, a thorough examination by the doctor. revealed that his internal organs were unharmed. 

Brittany, out of concern, insisted that he should stay at the hospital overnight. 

William, happy to see her care for him, agreed. 

After completing the admission procedures, Brittany poured a glass of water for William, who was lying on the bed, and then she said, “William, I didn’t know he would come…” 

Who would have thought that Isaac would disrupt the otherwise peaceful dinner? 

“I know,” William took the glass of water, his hand paused mid-air, intending to hold Brittany’s hand. 

“I won’t interfere with your affairs. I’ll wait for you to sort everything out.” 

Brittany felt quiltier. She owed William a lot. 

“I’ll stay tonight,” she hesitated, “I’ll sleep on the couch. If you feel unwell, just call me.” 

“No need,” William shook his head and said, “I’m fine. The doctors and nurses are here to take care of me. You should go home and rest.” 

-He knew Brittany was exhausted from work. He wanted her to stay but was worried it could stir up rumors and cause her 

trouble. 

“But William, I’m worried, Brittany insisted. She had her assistant bring her some change of clothes. 

Upon hearing this, William forgot about his principles and said, “Then have the nurse get you some extra bedding so your won’t get cold during the night.” 

“Okay,” Brittany got some fresh linens from the nurse and made up the couch. Meanwhile, her assistant arrived with her change of clothes. 

She informed William and then headed to the bathroom. 

When she came out of the shower, William was already asleep. He had taken off his prosthetic leg, leaving a hollow space at his calf, looking rather pathetic. 

Brittany walked over quietly, turned off the light, and lay down on the sofa, 

The room was silent. Brittany’s mind was filled with the events of the evening. She was extremely agitated. Why did Isaac show up at the restaurant? What right did he have to hit William? She needed to divorce him as soon as possible. She didn’t want anything to do with the Salter family anymore. She didn’t manage to fall asleep until three in the morning. 

When Isaac returned to Radiant Residences, it was almost ten o’clock. Emily was holding a new set of toiletries, ready to replace Daniel’s old ones. “Mr. Salter, you’re back.”
