The stack of papers was spread out in front of him. 

Isaac’s eyes trembled violently. How did she know? 

“Mr. Salter, you’re quite the actor, Brittany complimented him generously. “But I’m done playing this game with you. We’re a fake couple. Get lost. I don’t want to have to kick you out.” 

Isaac didn’t expect to be exposed. As Brittany turned to leave, he instinctively grabbed her wrist. “Yes, I lied to you at first, but I…” 

“Mr. Salter, weren’t you engaged to Shona?” 

Brittany was curious. If Isaac was keeping his engagement to Shona a secret from her, why did he break it off with Shona later? 

“My relationship with Shona…it’s not what you think.” Isaac tried to explain. ‘We’re just partners. 

“Like you and me?” Brittany pulled her hand free and said sarcastically, “Mr. Salter, you really know how to use marriage to your advantage.”

Isaac didn’t expect to be exposed. He immediately investigated everyone, only to find out that the information came from Jole.

“I told Bri they were in a sham marriage.”
