William’s hands were both clean and warm, with a slight callus on his palms. 

Holding his hand, Brittany felt like she was touching the whole world, which brought great comfort to her heart. 

She had always craved a family since she was a kid, but life had different plans. 

The Dustin family was no more. Her grandma was gone too. 

Her ‘husband” had been messing with her all along. 

Her kid was gone as well. 

Everything she yearned for had vanished. 

She wanted to start over. 

She caressed his hand. 

William felt pure bliss. He held her hand, his eyes filled with tenderness. “I’ll treat you right.” 

Tears welled up in Brittany’s eyes. She knew he always meant what he said. 

“Okay.” 

They pushed open the private room door. Seeing them hand in hand, Kari’s anxiety immediately vanished.. 

Others caught on and started teasing them. 

William had a good temper. Facing everyone’s teasing, he smiled warmly and said, “Thank you all. I’m with Bri now, so I’ll probably hang out with you guys more often. Hope you can take care of me” 

“Mr. Dillion, you have got to have a couple of drinks tonight.” 

‘Exactly! If you want to take our Ms. Dustin away, you have to drink.” 

William let go of Brittany’s hand and was forcibly dragged away by Tina. 

“Tina” Brittany knew Tina well. She was a sucker for a spectacle. Since she had caught William, she was bound to have some fun with 

him. 

‘Ms. Dustin, are you worried about Mr. Dillion?” Tina teased on purpose 

Brittany was indeed worried about William, but before she could speak, William said, “Bri, don’t worry.” 

Brittany then said, “Don’t drink too much.” 

Tina nodded, then poured a large glass of alcohol for William. Other old friends also came up, one after another. 

William was a lightweight. After a few drinks, he couldn’t hold up. His head rested on the table, and his face flushed, which was kind of heartbreaking to see. 

Brittany couldn’t stand it; she stepped forward and pulled everyone away, saying seriously, “Enough. He’s going to throw up.” 

Seeing that, everyone stopped. They were just happy for Brittany. After five years, she finally emerged from her hardships. 

Brittany called a guy over, and together they helped William leave. 

Tina watched them leave and took another sip of her drink. Her face was unchanged. 

After William was put in the car, the guy left. 

Brittany also had a few drinks that night, so she couldn’t drive. 

Brittany called a designated driver. While waiting, she opened the car door and got in. 

William leaned on the back seat, his face flushed and his brows slightly furrowed.

Brittany went to a nearby drugstore to buy some hangover pills and also got a cup of water from the restaurant.
