When Brittany heard this, she felt a pang of sadness. She hugged Daniel without giving much thought, “No, I really like you.” 

She looked at Daniel carefully and suddenly recalled what William had once said. 

She and Daniel had some similarities. 

Daniel got the answer he wanted and felt like to get closer with Brittany.

“Dad, don’t take me away, let go of me.” he shouted. 

Isaac grabbed his collar to pull him away from Brittany, “Your mom hasn’t fully recovered yet, so stop clinging to her.” 

“You’re just jealous of me!” Daniel retorted angrily, “You’re jealous ’cause mom likes me more!” 

Granny Emily once said, dad made mom angry because of his own mistakes. That’s why my mom didn’t want to hold him. He brought it on himself! Daniel thought this way. 

Isaac warned sternly, “Say one more word, and I’m sending you back to your room!” 

Daniel shut his mouth reluctantly. 

Brittany lay on the bed. Everything happened so fast and she needed some time to process it. After a while, she looked at Isaac, “Let’s talk. Just us.” 

She wanted to talk about Daniel. 

Isaac handed Daniel over to Emily, leaving just the two of them in the room. 

“What’s going on?” 

Brittany stared straight at Isaac. Five years ago, she thought that child was gone. 

“When the child was born, he was very weak. I didn’t want you to go through another blow so I took the child away. I planned to tell you when his condition stabilized, but I didn’t expect…” 

He didn’t expect that Brittany disappeared even before the child’s in a fully stable condition. 

Brittany was still in disbelief, “I need a DNA test.” 

“Okay.” 

Isaac understood her doubts. 

The hospital took their DNA samples, and in less than twenty-four hours, the results were out. 

Brittany looked at the report and her face turned pale. 

Now she’s Daniel’s biological mother for sure! 

“Now do you believe me?” Isaac asked. 

Brittany clutched the DNA report tightly. Everything that happened since her return to the country was now connected. 

She had always been emotionally detached, but she felt especially sorry for Daniel. 

She even kept him by her side. 

She used to think that she could fill the void of her lost child through Daniel.
