Chapter 645
Brittany was about to continue her search, but suddenly, she heard the front door open.
Who else could it be at this hour other than Isaac?
Brittany deleted her search history and left the study. There was Isaac, leaning against the wall. His handsome face was flushed, and he reeked of alcohol. His usual aloofness was nowhere to be found.
“You’ve been drinking?” Brittany frowned. What was he doing here? Her place wasn’t a bar.
Isaac’s brows were furrowed, and he looked uncomfortable.
He loosened his tie, unbuttoned his shirt, swallowed hard, and let out a low moan.
Despite his obvious discomfort, Brittany held her tongue.
She spoke a lot, but it was like talking to a wall.
“It’s late; don’t wake Daniel.” She said that and went straight back to her bedroom.
Isaac just stood there, looking lost.
Back when they were together, she would have taken care of him when he got drunk. But not anymore.
After resting for a while, he took off his clothes and headed for the bathroom.
Once in bed, Brittany tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Her mind was filled with thoughts of Viola’s and Isaac’s drunken states.
It wasn’t that she was worried about Isaac. She was just concerned that he might make a noise and wake Daniel.
She shook her head, trying to clear her mind and force herself to sleep when she heard a thud.
Startled, she got out of bed and opened the door.
“Isaac?”
There was no response. She walked to the bathroom and froze.
The bathroom door was open. Isaac was on the floor, his shirt now soaked, looking like a complete mess.
The floor was slippery with shower gel and water. Apparently, he had lost his balance due to his drunken state and gave up on trying to stand straight. Brittany walked into the bathroom and kicked Isaac lightly. “Can you stand up?”
Isaac looked up at her, weakly raising his hand. “Bri.”
At least he wasn’t too drunk to recognize her.
“Get up if you can. Finish your shower and go to sleep.”
Tears welled up in his eyes. “You don’t love me anymore.”
Brittany was taken aback. Was he out of his mind? Or did he forget that they had broken up?
“You didn’t even make lemon water for me when I’m drunk. You used to make lemon water for me… you would even help me take a bath. But now you don’t love me anymore.”
He had been at a party, had quite a few strong drinks, and was now reminiscing about their past. The contrast made him feel even more sad.
His complaints grew more and more intense; he even began trembling. He was definitely drunk.
Brittany dismissed her previous assumptions and reached out to him. “Get up.”
Isaac tried to raise his hand but failed.
