When Brittany came back to Imperial City, it was the height of summer. Three months later, the city was already deep into autumn, as if it had transitioned overnight. 

The road outside the studio was lined with trees. 

Brittany stepped out of the studio after a busy day of work, only to find a black luxury car parked outside. 

The car door opened, and Joseph was in the back seat, holding a dagger with its sharp tip exposed. 

“Ms. Dustin, have you moved recently?”. 

Brittany looked at Joseph, her eyes wary. “What are you up to this time, Mr. Joseph? Planning to wreck my studio?” 

His tactics were low, so she had to be on guard at all times. 

Joseph leaned against the leather seat. “Ms. Dustin, do me a favor, will you?” 

I don’t think we’re that close.” Brittany cut him off. 

I’m getting engaged soon, and I want you to design the engagement jewelry.”
