“Ms. Dustin, you sure have a sharp eye.” 

The client was aware of Brittany’s business acumen and was curious about Kari. “I heard they made her quite an offer.” 

If Kari were to switch companies, her future would be secured, and her income would multiply several times over. Brittany smiled, bidding the client goodbye. 

Kari seized the opportunity to talk to Brittany, “They’re all just talking, Brittany. I’ve turned them down multiple times.” 

Brittany knew Kari wasn’t going anywhere. She was initially worried, but then she realized that if Kari wanted to leave, she would have done so five years 

ago. 

How could she wait until now? 

She poured Kari a cup of coffee and said, “I know you’re not going anywhere.” 

Relieved by Brittany’s words, Kari said, “I’ll talk to them again, Brittany. I promise there won’t be any more rumors.” 

“OK. And if you ever want to venture out on your own, I won’t stop you.” 

Brittany sat Kari down, her tone serious and heartfelt. 

Startled, Kari said, “Brittany, I’m not leaving. I’m happy here, so why would I leave?” 

Bri-jeweled Studio was her baby. How could she abandon her own child? 

“Calm down.” Brittany urged Kari to cool off. “I’m not asking you to leave. What I mean is, whether you want to stand on your own two feet or stay here,/ we’re family. Your future is what matters most.” 

Tears welled up in Kari’s eyes as she made a promise, “Brittany, I owe everything to the opportunity you gave me. I’ll never leave Bri-jeweled Studio.” Brittany knew about Kari’s stubbornness; she patted her head. “Keep up the good work.” 

Perhaps Kari’s loyalty had quelled the rumors in the studio because no one gossiped for the next few days. 

Those who couldn’t lure Kari away turned their attention to others in the studio. Some were tempted, but Brittany gracefully agreed to end their contracts and even gave them a bonus as a parting gift. 

Word of her actions spread, attracting experienced jewel designers. Brittany’s business was booming.. 

Just as she was wrapping up a meeting, Brittany returned to her office. 

-“You’re back.” Isaac had been waiting for Brittany for over three hours; her work was more demanding than he had anticipated. 

Brittany put down her briefcase, remembering that they had a dinner at the Salter Manor this evening. 

She rubbed her temples. “Sorry for making you wait.” 

Isaac took the briefcase from her, tossed it on the table, and swept her up in his arms. 

“Isaac, what are you doing!” Brittany’s face turned pale with surprise. She hadn’t closed the door when she came in! 

Isaac leaned her against the desk, his hand massaging her waist. “You’re not short of money. Why are you working yourself to the bone?” 

Brittany was wealthy and she could afford not to work another day in her life. So she didn’t need to work so hard. 

Brittany sighed, “I used to think that running Bri-jeweled Studio well was enough, but now I want to do even better, and help the Dustin Group expand beyond A country.” 

In other words, people were always greedy. 

Isaac leaned down to kiss her. “Your health comes first.” 

He cared about Brittany’s well-being, and had no complaints about her work arrangements. 

Brittany rested for a moment before remembering the dinner. “We should get going. It’s getting late.” 

Hearing that, Isaac stepped back. 

Brittany straightened her clothes, grabbed her bag, and followed Isaac out.
