Chapter 307 

In the hospital conference room, a bunch of pros were having an emergency meeting, discussing the treatment plan for Yuliana after her body showed 

some response. 

In the ward, Lucian was sitting at the bedside, his gaze glued to the girl on the hospital bed. Her face was as pale as a ghost, and her frail body was a heartbreaking view to see. With a ventilator mask on her face and the medical monitor by her side showing the bouncing lines, that was the only sign. Lucian had that Yuliana was still kicking. 

His eyes were fixed on her fingers. Did that hand just move? 

Yuliana had been out cold for four years now. Ever since that incident, Yuliana hadn’t woken up, and his relationship with Aidan had gone sour. 

An hour later 

The doc came out with the hospital director leading the way to Lucian. “Mr. Lindberg, Ms. Crane is not fit for surgery right now, and her body’s running on fumes. If we push for surgery, things could go sideways.” 

Lucian bit his tongue, “So, you’re saying. There’s no sign she’s waking up anytime soon” 

“Mr. Lindberg, Ms. Crane’s condition needs time to recover. Right now, she’s responsive to her surroundings, and I believe, one day, she’ll open her eyes.” 

Lucian scoffed, “So, you’re asking me to believe in miracles? Believe a vegetable can open her eyes, right? When? A few days? This year, next year, in five years, ten years?” 

The hospital director said, “Mr. Lindberg, don’t get worked up. You know how bad Ms. Crane was. It’s a big deal she’s recovered this much. I’ll consult with Kasey’s team right away and come up with the best treatment plan! 

Lucian nodded. Td appreciate that, Dr. Please contact me right away if there’s any news.” 

“Sure thing” 

Just as Lucian stepped out of the elevator, there was a person dressed in black workout gear standing there. There was a cold look on his face. It was Aidan. Their eyes met. Aidan stepped aside, and when Lucian’s out, he stepped in. 

The elevator doors closed, and it started its ascent. 

There was not a word between them. 

Shawn trailed after Lucian, and he could feel Lucian’s calm demeanor. It was like they were total strangers. But who would know that they used to be the best of buds. 

All because of that woman lying upstairs, Yuliana. If she hadn’t ended up a vegetable, she might be Mrs. Lucian by now. 

Lucian left the hospital, hopped into his car, rubbed his forehead a bit. Shawn said, “Mr. Lindberg, are we heading back to Lindberg Corporation? I’ve had someone else take over the meeting that got interrupted” 

Lucian, eyes closed, seemed a bit worn out, “Yeah”
