Chapter 372

Grace had been in the hospital for three days, and now she was good to go. Allison was handling the discharge paperwork, and man, there was a long line in front of her

Hospitals were always a revolving door of people, filled with all sorts of heartbreak.

About twenty minutes later, it was finally Allison’s tum. After the paperwork, she bolted upstairs. The elevator was jam-packed. It opened on the second floor, and people started filing in and out.

Suddenly, Allison spotted a familiar figure. Dr. Dylan apparently noticed her, too. They locked eyes for a few seconds before Allison looked away

The elevator was as slow as molasses, stopping on every floor for a bit. It was not until the tenth floor that Allison and Dr. Dylan finally got off

Allison walked ahead with her head down, but Dr. Dylan called out to her, “Allison.”

Allison stopped. “Dr. Dylan.”

Dr. Dylan took a quick look at her. “What brings you here? Is it your mom?”

He said, “I’ve had some stuff going on at home these past few days, so I took some time off. Just got back to work today.”

Allison said, “My mom passed out on the street three days ago. The doctors said it was because she didn’t take her anti-rejection meds on time. She’s been in the hospital for three days, and she’s just getting discharged today.”

Dr. Dylan asked for her medical records and test results, which Allison handed over.

He knew the ins and outs of Grace’s condition since he was her primary doctor. He glanced at the results. “That’s odd. A kidney patient wouldn’t forget to take their meds unless someone messed with her.”

Allison shared Dr. Dylans’ suspicion, “I asked my mom, but she wouldn’t spill. I think she’s got something she’s not telling me.”

Dr. Dylan warned her seriously. This can’t happen again. After all, the kidney isn’t hers. If the rejection harms the kidney, her body may not handle a second transplant. Be careful from now on.”

“I got it,” Allison said. The hallway was busy with patients and nurses coming and going.

Everyone passing by Dr. Dylan greeted him.

He had a good rep here, patients loved him, and they all called him “Dr. Dylan’ with friendly smiles.

Dr. Dylan politely responded to each of them.

“Thanks, Dr. Dylan” Allison said. “I won’t keep you anymore.”

Dr. Dylan was a good guy and Allison didn’t want to bug him. Watching her walk away, Dr. Dylan’s hands slowly clenched into fists.

Sometimes, when you missed out, you really missed out. He really wanted to tell Allison that he and Jade had broken up.
