She pursed her lips and then, a radiant smile suddenly broke out. Working at Red Jack Club required makeup. Allison usually kept it subtle, but tonight’s lipstick was a bit more flamboyant. At that moment, her eyes were still red from crying, offsetting the bright red of her lips, and surprisingly, caught Lucian’s attention. “Lucian, Silver Star Hotel is a place for the rich. I might not even make it through the doors of Silver Star Hotel without being kicked out.” 

Lucian suddenly felt a pang of annoyance. It felt like a fire was burning inside him. He was feeling uncomfortable. Looking at her smiling face, he was overwhelmed with a mix of emotions he had never felt before..

The next morning, Arthur finished his work. His assistant stood by with some documents, “Mr. Arthur, there’s something I think you should know.” 

“Go on.” The man removed his glasses perched on the bridge of his nose, pinching it lightly. 

*At 8 this moming, one of my guys got a call saying that Shawn, Lindberg Corporation’s assistant, contacted Rodney and had him fire a female manager named Serena from Red Jack Club.’ 

“Lindberg Corporation? Lucian?” 

“Yes.” 

Arthur frowned slightly. He was well aware of the famous Lindberg Corporation in Northfield, but he didn’t understand why Lucian would personally care about a female manager from Red Jack Club? 

“Okay.” 

This minor issue wouldn’t normally require his attention, but since it involved Lindberg Corporation, he found it quite interesting. 

“What did this Serena do?” 

“I’m not sure. According to Shawn, it was Lucian’s order. He wants Serena out of Red Jack Club by next Monday. Apparently because…” 

Arthur glanced at his assistant, “Go on.” 

“Apparently because Mr. Lindberg wants to please a woman named Allison. She’s a waitress at Red Jack Club and seems to have a -conflict with Serena. Allison caught Lucian’s attention, so Lucian decided to get this woman out.” 

Arthur quietly repeated the name, “Allison…” 

He had no impression of this name, but he was intrigued, “When did Red Jack Club get such an influential waitress that could catch Lucian’s attention? I’d like to meet her.” 

“Mr. Anthur, should I invite Ms. Zimmer over now?” 

“She’s Lucian’s woman, so naturally, I want to meet her myself.” 

“But I heard that Allison is resigning next Monday* 

“With Lucian around, does she still need to work at Red Jack Club?”
