Chapter 394

Lucian grabbed the tablet and pulled her into his arms. The massage chair felt a bit cramped even though it was spacious enough. He planted a tender kiss on her cheek. Allison didn’t resist his touch. She didn’t have that privilege.

In the midst of their affectionate kiss, his husky and sexy voice made its way to her ears, “Jennifer’s new movie, Day Zero, doesn’t start filming for another three months. In the meantime, Epic Entertainment has another artsy film. If you’re into it, I can recommend you for the audition. The production team is top-notch,”

“Aren’t you worried your fiancée will get mad?”

His gazes darkened, “Allison, when we’re together, I don’t want you to bring her up.”

“Ainght” Allison responded obediently, “I’ll do as you say.”

Lucian smirked a little, “That’s more like it. If you like this movie, I can have Epic Entertainment get you on board right away. But if you don’t, we can always switch it up. As long as you’re willing, I can cater to all your needs”

Allison offered a smile, but her heart didn’t feel as light as she looked.

“Alright.”

“Are you happy?” he asked.

Allison’s smile widened a bit, but her eyes didn’t hold much joy. “Yes, I’m happy.”

“As long as you’re happy.” His nose gently brushed against her forehead. “That’s all I want.”

Allison’s gaze faltered slightly. She closed her eyes, her hands slowly clenched and then relaxed.

Miranda had been busy organizing a charity auction dinner, an annual gig for her. This year she planned to make it even more grand.

The dinner was a week away. She had already booked the venue and sent out the invitations. Almost everyone of importance in Northfield received her invite, and they all promised to show up.

After all, no one would dare disrespect the Lindberg family.

Miranda might seem gentle and refined, but when it came to planning, she was meticulous to the core.

“Mrs Lindberg. I’ve prepared the list you asked for. Also, here are the items for auction from the ladies, including various antiques, gold pieces, and jewelry”

“Good. Check the food at the hotel.”

“Alright.”

The day of the charity dinner was blessed with good weather. The wind was a bit chilly in the evening, but not uncomfortably so. Luxury cars filled the hotel’s entrance.

For tonight’s event, Miranda had booked the entire hotel for a week, though only a banquet hall would be used tonight,

A few socialites walked in, exchanging pleasantries with Miranda.

Miranda offered an elegant smile, “We should go for a spa day sometime.”

“Sounds good, it’s a date.”

“Mrs. Lindberg” Leah and Penelope approached her. Penelope was wearing a champagne colored dress with a matching lace belt below her bust. The floating texture of her dress subtly hid her protruding belly. Leah was dressed in a dark green velvet gown, her hair gently curled, with an emerald pendant around her neck, exuding elegance and grandeur.
