Chapter 422
Kamilla looked at the woman standing beside Lucian and tentatively called out, “Allison?”
Allison flashed a gentle smile, her hand still linked with Lucian’s arm. She stood right next to him, exuding an air of elegance.
Her eyes squinted into thin lines, “Ms. Zimmer, what a coincidence.”
Kamilla didn’t have any particular feelings towards Allison, but she found it odd. Wasn’t Allison the maid of the Flanagan family? Why was she with her brother all of a sudden? Something felt off.
“Lucian, it’s my friend’s birthday today. I didn’t expect you to be here. Let’s celebrate together.”
Ronald chimed in, “Yeah, Luca, let’s grab a bite together.”
Lucian turned to Allison, seeking her opinion. At this mornent, all eyes in the room were on Allison. Everyone was surprised, making wild guesses. After all, Penelope was still in the hospital, yet Lucian was dining with a woman who looked so much like Penelope, which was bound to stir up rumors. But nobody dared to ask directly.
Allison responded, “Sure.”
Kamilla was currently studying in the Arts department at Northfield College. Ronald was also her classmate, coming from a well-off family, his grandfather being a renowned general.
Most of the attendees at Ronald’s birthday were his classmates from wealthy families.
Strictly speaking, one couldn’t afford the Arts department at Northfield College without financial power. It was a major that drained the wallet.
The waiter combined four tables together. The restaurant was quite popular in Northfield recently, with a nice décor and a soothing countryside style. The small hall on the second floor was even more elegant, with four rectangular wooden tables combined, providing ample space, almost filled to the brim.
“It’s my birthday today. Please order whatever you want. A few dishes here are really good, and I’ve ordered them already. See if there’s anything else you fancy?”
The waiter stood by, smiling as he introduced the menu. Allison took the menu, which already had several dishes selected. She glanced at it. The main courses were pretty much covered, ‘Let’s get some more drinks.”
Lucian’s phone rang, he stood up to take the call.
Allison looked at the menu, picked another home-style dish, then handed the menu to the person next to her.
“Allison, after dinner, we’re planning to hit the karaoke, are you and Luca coming?” Suddenly, a clear male voice rose.
Allison looked up at Ronald sitting across from her, “No, I’ve got stuff to do. Happy birthday, have fun.”
Allison had rushed out today, still wearing the costume from the set, a light blue knitted cardigan with a white shirt underneath.
She was dressed in a fresh and gentle style, her smile curved like a crescent moon, her voice soft, and her appearance refined with a calm demeanor. Ronald blushed a bit and asked, “What about Luca?”
“You can ask him when he gets back.” Allison couldn’t make decisions for this man.
Kamilla held her utensils, “Allison, how did you meet my brother?”
“Just a coincidence.”
Kamilla didn’t buy it. There was no such thing as coincidence.
