“I told you, but he’s probably too busy to come over.” No sooner had she finished speaking than Daisy’s phone rang. 

She glanced down and picked it up. “It’s Brady calling.” 

“I thought you said he wasn’t coming?” Allison asked. 

The surrounding noise was deafening. Daisy held the phone, speaking, “Hey, Brady, we’re already at the restaurant. Yes, Allison is here too.” Daisy glanced at Allison, “Ah, you’re coming?” 

Allison was munching on her veggies, watching Daisy end the call. 

Daisy had a placating smile on her face, “I didn’t know he was coming. Maybe he called for you.” 

About ten minutes later, Brady arrived, carrying a plate of hand-cut beef. 

“How does it taste, not bad, right?” He said this while looking at Daisy, then turned to Allison. 

“Brady, long time no see, your restaurant is pretty cool.” Daisy said. 

“Yeah, it’s been a while.” Brady turned to Allison, “Allison, you remember me, right? I’m Brady. We’ve met before.” 

Allison nodded, “I remember, the strawberry cake you gave me was delicious.” 

Brady rubbed his head, “Eat anything you want. It’s on me.” 

“This isn’t right. Brady, today is the opening of your new restaurant, and we’re here to support you.” Daisy protested. 

Allison’s phone vibrated. It was a WhatsApp message. She had sent a photo to Lucian earlier and he had responded. [Lindberg Corporation also has a food and beverage business, all located on the 8th floor of Crown Plaza, which is also owned by Lindberg Corporation.] 

Allison responded: [It’s a restaurant opened by a classmate from college. Today is the grand opening, and Daisy brought me here to show some support.] 

Less than a minute after she sent the message, her phone rang. 

Allison smiled slightly, she knew Lucian was calling. She handed the phone to Daisy and mouthed, “Tell him I’m in the bathroom.” 

Daisy was chatting with Brady when she took the phone, “Who is it?” 

She glanced down, oh dear, it was Lucian. She coughed lightly, answered the call, but the noise in the restaurant made it hard to hear. 

“I’m Daisy, Allison is in the bathroom.” Daisy glanced at Allison, “Mr. Lindberg, maybe call her back in a bit? Yes, we’re having a meal at a newly opened restaurant.” 

After hanging up, Daisy wiped the sweat off her forehead. Even a one-minute call could let her feel the pressure from the other end. Lucian’s aura was just too strong. 

And her intuition told her, Lucian was pissed. To be exact, he was jealous.
