Many young actresses under her command had an affair with Hudson, relying on their 

bodies to obtain resources. 

She turned a blind eye. It was all part of the game. After all, who in the glittering world of showbiz didn’t claw their way to the top? Everyone was gunning for the juiciest roles, the 

fattest contracts. 

But Hudson was playing with fire, making moves on Allison without knowing who was backing her. Inside the walls of Epic Entertainment, only Patty and Mr. Landry knew about Lucian’s role in Allison’s life. Kenneth and Hudson were in the dark, probably thinking Allison was just another aspiring actress ripe for the picking. 

Patty saw an opportunity to teach both Hudson and Allison a lesson. Without her protection, Allison would be bullied, and it could give Hudson a fatal blow at the same time. In terms of seniority, Hudson might have had an edge, but when it came to skill, Patty didn’t acknowledge his lead. It was high time Hudson vacated his seat as vice president in favor of her. 

She pulled out her private cell and dialed a number. “It’s me, Patty.” 

“Patty? I’d recognize your voice anywhere. What’s up?” 

“You got the footage?” Patty asked. 

There was a chuckle on the other end. “Of course. I’ll send it your way tomorrow. But don’t forget what you promised…” 

“How could I? I’ve already wired you $8 million as a show of good faith. Once I’m VP of Epic Entertainment, I’ll bump you up to talent agent, managing some of our rising stars. Sound good?” 

“Perfect. I’ll hold you to that, Patty. Looking forward to your promotion.” 

The next morning found Lucian arriving at the Powell Estate. He fished out his keys and unlocked the door to find Allison still fast asleep. He made his way to the bedroom, quietly observing her peaceful features long lashes, delicate skin with a hint of rose, a slight furrow in her brow as if troubled by a dream. 

Her fingers twitched, latching onto Lucian’s hand as he approached. He gently clasped her fingers, offering a soothing touch. His cool fingertips carried the chill from outside. Allison’s eyes fluttered open. She had been trapped in a nightmare, sinking in a vast swamp, struggling in vain, when a hand reached out to save her. 

Blinking in disbelief, she saw Lucian. His touch, warm and real, brought her back to the waking world.
