She couldn’t forget the icy, piercing glare he gave her when he heard from Amelia about the consumed box of birth control pills found at Central Ring Villa. His anger was palpable, and his forceful grip on her chin felt as if her jaw might snap, disregarding the child growing inside her. 

Yes, she had deliberately kept her meeting with Callum from him, and she had lied about the pills, but her reasons were her own.

She had never doubted that he would seek out the truth, nor had she panicked; she had nothing to feel guilty about. 

“I may have a team, but they’re no match for our four-year-old son,” Lysander said. 

“What?” Thalassa was taken aback, blinking in astonishment at Lysander. “You had Atticus help you investigate?” 

“When you took the kids and ran, didn’t you also have him erase the surveillance footage of your escape?” Lysander’s intense gaze challenged her.
