Chapter 119

“You think I don’t get what you’re saying?” Lysander shot at Thalassa.

Thalassa was taken aback for a moment, then she quickly got the gist of it and said, “Oh, I see. You knew all along that Faye was the rumor monger. You’re a smart one, aren’t you? No wonder you’re Mr. Sinclair.”

Thalassa gave him a thumbs up, showing her admiration.

Watching her, Lysander found her praise to be charming and said, “You’re such a goofball.”

Thalassa retorted, “Mr. Sinclair, your way of praising people is really something else.”

Suddenly, something occurred to Thalassa, and she asked, “Mr. Sinclair, about the design plans being stolen, you knew it was Faye all along, didn’t you?”

“How do you think you got out so quickly?” Lysander shot back without giving her a direct answer.

That was answer enough for her.

Thalassa felt a mix of anger and injustice.

If Lysander knew all along that she hadn’t stolen the design plans, why then did he not react at all when she was being taken away by the police, even as she attempted to explain herself?

Thalassa blurted out angrily, “Mr. Sinclair, if you knew it was Faye all along, why did you let me take the fall and get hauled off by the cops?”

She had felt helpless and wronged at the police station, worrying endlessly.

If she ended up in jail, what would become of her four children? Who would take care of them?

And what about her mother and aunt?

Without an income, not only would her children suffer, but the two elderly women would also face hardships.

Lysander walked up to her and retorted, “Why shouldn’t I have sent you to the police? You think you’re some privileged character?”

As he approached, Thalassa’s heart pounded.
