Alaric quirked an eyebrow, "Do those kids look familiar to you?"

Thalassa's heart started to race, and she blinked rapidly, scrambling for a plan.

Suddenly, Alaric's face brightened with realization, "I've got it! I saw those two at the hospital before!"

Turning to Thalassa, he explained, "When Hertha had that car accident and was hospitalized, I bumped into these kids in the elevator. Never thought they lived in the same building as Hertha. Last time, it was a nanny with them, but today, it was their mom."

Though it had been over a month, the young girl's piercing eyes were unforgettable. They had the same almond shape as his, which made them stand out in his memory. He had felt an inexplicable connection to the girl at the time, probably because of their similar eyes, he thought.
